hi sharon
Gods love for us is endless...God is also very forgiving...
i guess it would depend on how many people loved the person who took there own life...
hevin would not be so hevenly if we did not have the people we loved there...besides no one truly dies if they are remembered...
the last supper Our Lord blessed the bread and wine and said this is my body and blood....do this in memory of me...
and we his people remember to this day what Jesus gave his life so that we can be saved....
the answer to your question is YES....
the very fact that you loved that person that took there own life may save them..pray for them...ask our Lord to for give them...
but you yourself must also forgive them for the pain they caused you and your family....
i hope this helps to put your mind at peace...
may God bless you and keep you safe .............
remember in your prayers that person.

Before you all go thumbing me down let me say this is not my own opinion. I am quite old now and through my life have had contact with many religions, my own mother was raised Roman Catholic and i am positive I recall her saying that a person who had committed suicide would not go to heaven as they had died in sin and would stay in purgatory forever, (the sin being the killing/murdering of themselves), I even seem to recall that such people were buried outside of the Church graveyard in a secluded area. (Whether this thinking has changed over the years I do not know).
My personal belief is that an all-seeing Figure/God would let sufferers go to him under those circumstances, and suffering of the mind is no less than physical suffering. I am reviewing my thoughts towards religion at the present and have been for a little while, so my own thinking is not even clear to me yet, sorry if this sounds confusing.

I think it depends on the circumstances. I have a hard time believing that people who have lived good lives but have terminal illnesses and are in terrible physical pain would not be forgiven by God if they chose assisted suicide (or to end their own lives).
I was raised to believe that suicide for any other reason is an entirely selfish act and it is turning one's back on God. It really is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Things will always get better. Too many people feel like they're alone, and they're not. There are always people willing to help, even if its a complete stranger at a hotline.
Everyone is loved by someone, even if they don't believe it.

Anyone who says that God will definitely punish a suicide must be sure that they:
a) they understand the circumstances of the act to the same degree as God does.
b) that they have a total grasp of Gods mercy.
I can only say this: God's understanding and mercy cannot be encompassed by the human mind and therefore humans should not attempt to pigeon hole or limit said understanding and mercy.
I therefore submit - that God knows the entire reasons why any person would choose the path of suicide- much better than we. The harshness of God's judgement is more likely to go upon the rest of us who in our busied lives fail to see the need in our lonely suicidal fellow human.

God judges people by just 1 thing, there heart. Everyone commits sin in there life, what makes the difference is if they had a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Only God knows the persons heart, and if they had a true relationship with Him, or not. So it's not ours to judge.

Traditionally, the approach was traditionally, that killing yourself was a mortal sin that you could not recover from, and hence would go to hell. These days, we are at a better place when it comes to understanding God's mercy. We now believe that committing suicide may be the result of one of many forms of depression ranging from minor to major. In all cases depression or unhappiness may cause a person to believe that the only way out is to kill their selves. In these cases we cannot say that the conditions of Mortal sin were satisfied, and so we cannot assume to know how God would treat this person. We leave this decision to the mercy of God. In all cases the Catholic Church grants a funeral to Catholics who commit suicide, seeing as we cannot know the reasons behind their actions- and only God can.

Depends on your religion, but what I believe is that the only unforgivable sin is the sin of rejecting God when you are given the chance to accept- as long as you have accepted God into your life, you should have nothing to worry about, and you should be able to do the best from there.

God accepts us all. Taking your own life is a great offence against yourself. The worst part is that you'll have to come back under even worse circumstances to finish your time here

i don't believe in any god so i cant answer that but it is a very selfish thing to do, i know i've tryed several times and have many scars and other problems due to it, but i think supposing their is a god that if you accept yourself then their isn't a problem, but some people do say that god loves everyone and i think that would includes their faults so such a being would accept everyones plus and minus points and accept them for who they are

I would think they aren't thinking about being accepted by god, but simply getting away from whatever is here. The nothing that death brings is a comfort when life is too hard.

If they were truly a Christian then they will go to heaven. Even Christians suffer despair and don't always do what they should; so even though taking a life is a sin God will deal with the individual based on their faith not their actions.
