I believe that good people go to Heaven. I believe that no matter what your regilious beliefs are, at some point after death you are given a final opportunity to go somewhere pleasant = "Heaven".

I know a lot of people believe that a person who commits suicide does NOT go to Heaven.

I knew a VERY kind and loving person who due to life circumstances did not know how to love herself. She took her own life on Tuesday. Her punishment was the life that she lived here on earth. I know that a person with her heart is in a better place!!!!

What are your feelings and/or beliefs?

I believe that you soul goes on - that you will be reunited with your loved ones. I do not know what this place looks or is like. I call it Heaven.

If you do not believe in a place of after life - what do you believe?

I as a mere mortal can not or will not ever judge why someone takes their own life. I do believe that she will be taken up to our father in heaven. She had to be terribly depressed to take the final step. I pray that none of us are ever put into the same situation, because I don't care how strong you believe you are, no one knows what can push someone over the edge. That is why I pray everyday for the strength to cope with the problems of each day.

Our prayers and blessings are with you and your family.

There is only one way for a person to be prohibitted from heaven...That is to completely reject God. Therefore a person who "commits the sin" of suicide is not excluded from heaven it all depends on the individuals state of grace at the time of death. While no one can can know the state of anothers soul we can hope and pray that the individual was in that special state. Additionally you allude to life's circumstances...they weigh on both the emotional and mental capabilities of poeple, sometimes they just get too much for someone. Suicide in these situations is really not being carried out in a rational state and people with diminished rational capabilities whether temporary or permanent can not sin due to the requirement of full knowledge of their sinful behavior.
I believe that your friend is either already in heaven or certainly on their way there (based on your testimonial of the type of person that they were). May they enjoy their everlasting reward.

Well since you know me probably better than anyone you know most of my view on this subject. I have a very stong belief in God and my faith is a big part of my life. I believe that there is someplace that we will go to after we are gone from this planet to be with God and our loved ones. I know as a Catholic that I a am to believe that suicide is not forgiven but I don't believe that God is cruel and that if someone was suffering that much in their life that God would not welcome them. I am here for you

You "believe" a lot of things. I suggest that your "beliefs" are based upon what you would do if you were God.

The problem is that you have created your own god, in your own image and that does not square with what the scriptures reveal about the God who created you in His image.

You can sincerely believe whatever you wish, but if you believe wrong, you are wrong. Not all roads lead to God. However, even if you are on the right road it is possible to be going the wrong direction on the right road. I suggest you get your bearings straight, then consult the map.

I'm really sorry about this and I realize you must be greiving enormously. My cousin committed suicide about 4 years ago and he too was one of the best people I knew.

We all want to believe in heaven. Even atheists wish it were true but have concluded it's not. I don't know anyone who if they knew without a shadow of a doubt that if there was a place called heaven (or other) where you will be reunited with loved ones to spend eternity in bliss or paradise of some sort, wouldn't invest everything to get there.

Unfortunately, and this may sting a bit, but reality is disgustingly indifferent to how we feel or what we believe. No matter how much we feel or believe that children shouldn't be abused, get cancer or suffer painful deaths, they do all the time. The important thing to hold onto here is that reality and truth exist independent of our desires or beliefs.

I believe there is a place called heaven. But I don't believe that because I want to be true, for that wouldn't make it true any more than my wish that no children get cancer would make that true. I believe it's a based on scripture, which demonstrates to be divine rather than human in origin. Please feel free to email me if you are interested in evidences.

Regarding my cousin, I don't know where he is. I hope and pray that he is in heaven, but I don't know that. I cried many tears for a long time. He was a very close cousin to me. But all my tears and hopes wouldn't change the reality that he wasn't coming back. You can't cry someone back from the dead and you can't cry them into heaven. They are where they are based on the righteous judgment of God. And He has set out his requirements in the bible. But, it's strikingly different than other religions which all say to "do" this to get in. In the bible it's quite the opposite. The bible says "done". It's all been done by Jesus Christ on the cross when he paid the penalty for sin. To reject God's free pardon, his gift of eternal life is to consign yourself to an eternity apart from God; hell.

None of us are good. Really, even the best of us have done plenty of "bad" things. If God was to judge on the basis of our "goodness" I'm afraid none of us would meet His standard. Good people don't necessarily go to heaven, saved people do. That's the good news! We don't have to be "good enough" to win God's heart so He'll let us in. If that were true we would never know how good is "good enough". Almost everything feels they are a good person. Even people we observe to be bad people feel that they are good.

The most important thing to remember is that reality after death is what it is independent of our fancy, or even our conviction that it must be a certain way. I encourage you to study the bible, particularly the new testament as a start and determine for yourself if it's claims are true.

Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

One error does not solve another. simply stated, you don't enter Truth (heaven) if you hold any error in thought. so the the work before one continues until all adjustments for truth have been made. The death does not send a person anywhere or have power to change a circumstance, whereas truth changes things on an eternal basis. If the death were a truth, there would be no need to overcome it with truth, for it would already be a truth.

Before I lost my faith in the church and all that jazz, I believed that everyone who had the capacity for good went to heavan, that if God was indeed a loving father, he wouldn't cast any of his children down in hell.

Now i believe there is nothing for good people and bad people. Your friend is in a better place, eternal nothingness.

Believe whatever makes you feel better about it, do whatever it takes to justify what happened because you are the one who is still here and has to cope with the difficulties of life

Whatever you do, don't believe the BS that you need to be saved by jesus to go to heaven. jesus was an example, and a political figure. More like martin luther king than some half god half man. In the end nobody really knows what happens

I believe that if you are good on earth, you will ascend to Heaven, regardless of whether or not you committed suicide. Sometimes life gets too hard for some people, and I don't believe they should be persecuted for their actions.
