Everywhere you look there is a photograph waiting to be taken. You just have to learn to see it instead of looking at it.

It really depends on what you are looking for. Still life like flowers, buildings, etc,. are a great source for photograpy...especially if you are beginning and aren't ready for action pictures just yet.
I always enjoy taking pictures of the weather..like different cloud formations in a thunder head...stuff like that. Find something that interests you and go for it! Good Luck !

Clowns, homeless people, street performers, children, complete strangers. I once used five rolls of film just walking around my city taking pictures of people waiting for the bus, standing outside their work taking a cig. break, and a really great one of an older man leaning against a light pole, all in b&w mind you. Just whatever inspires you really...Have fun!

I like flowers and foliage, and I live in the Rocky Mountains, so there are great nature photos around every corner and also old houses - like the old southern kind with wrap around porches and old shabby barns and OLD farm equipment.

I think people especially children make the best subjects. Yet it depends on what you want your pictures to say.

people...places...skies..sunsets landscapes, portraiture, documentaries..or reportage. weddings christenings christmas... and the list goes on...and on and on...
art is subjective... what i like, you may not. ive been atthis for 35 years or so, and ive shot everything, from cars, to bikes and helicopters, babies, children, weddings, funerals! (oh yes) and ive done some questionable stuff... like ads for eye safety... (yeuch) and i photographed scars etc for insurance claims... and a few women... dressed and undressed...
and its like being a doctor.. the lens insulates us from the horrors we see... its a job... and the only way to learn, is to put "film" thru the camera...

Depending where you live. There are millions of ideas.
I love to photograph animals, babies, older folks ...(with babies) ...buildings (especially older building ...looks for any interesting features), windows, doors, churches ...bridges, people in uniforms (policemen, firemen, Paramedics ...soldiers ...students etc)
Just pay attention to your surroundings and look for colors.
Have fun.

anything so long as you portray it in an uncommon way: get under it stand over it catch it in movement or allow it to blur, get really close stand far away, use a weird color or make it darker or brighter than what you would normaly see.

i personally like to photograph people - friends, family, strangers. Also, public places are fantastic too. like bus stops, streets etc. (public places are the best on rainy days)
