Just forget it. I think most people have said the same thing. It doesn't seem all that important to cause a conflict. However, if he brings it up again I would politely tell him it must have been someone else.

Na just forget it, its probably some idiot the other side, or maybe your tv? Kids tv on?
Anyways just bide your time until hes having a go at his kids and disturbs you.
Or playing loud music. To be honest Id of thought someone with kids would understand another parent loosing their control?
Sounds like a tit to me!

Let it go, you aren't going to change anything by confronting him about it.
If it happens again, let him know that seven a.m. is a perfectly acceptable hour to be awake and if he has a problem he can call the police.
The police will NEVER come to your house for a noise disturbance after seven a.m.!

Just leave it for now because there is nothing worse than something like this for starting a complete war between the neighbours.
If he tries to say something like this again, stand your ground
Good luck

Get up at 7am tomorrow with a loudspeaker and SHOUT at your kids for a few mins. Then go knock on his door and say "THAT was ME shouting at my kids".

Leave it on this occasion, but if he accuses you of something again in the future, remember this occurence, and have a good think about what you were doing before you apologise for anything.

I would mention it in passing next time you see him. Say you don't wont to make an issue about it but may be next time he should get his facts straight. Sorry, but I really don't like injustice even if it is a small issue

Forget it this time. But next time he says anything, make sure you were doing it before apologising. Is he one of those people prone to exaggeration? Like 9am becomes 7 and talking becomes shouting? I used to have one of those.

just me, by nature - i'd say something in passing if i saw him again. just tell him it'd been on your mind & realized that the particular day in question - you weren't even awake. and then maybe express that you don't like it when your awakened by neighbors either to show that you understand.

I would say something so he doesn't think it was you or you could leave it alone and if it happens to you again let him know the truth.
