Think the question has been well answered with the above - but want to mention think Mr Squirrel is one smart sharp little critter - one reasion I don't own a cat or a dog - love the critters & birds.

the correct name for a squirrels "nest" is called a Drey, however these are usually only used in winter when they hibernate, for the most part squirrels will roll up just about anywhere in tree usually in some hollow of a tree trunk

i once had squirrels in my attic, and i don't think they sleep at all, they build little bowling alleys and stay up all night bowling for peanuts and all day harassing the dogs and birds.
