Popular degrees in the Caribbean are:

* International Business
* Computer Science
* Hospitality/Hotel Management Degree
* Human Resources
* Nursing

There is a huge demand for all of these in the Caribbean as many multinational compaies are setting their businesses in the region and require natives to help operate their properties. Nursing is in huge demand in Puerto Rico, so much that the U.S. will sponsor you for a green card and residency if you have medical expertise. The island has seen an influx of nurses come in from the Philippines, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Panama in the past decade.

It depends on your aptitudes. For example, one skill which always seems to be in demand in those countries is catering. Just think in terms of the following areas of work: banking/business; law (there may be an issue of compatability with the legal system in the other place); the hotel industry and hospitality; health; construction and architecture; civil engineering; surveying; teaching; the diving industry....all these are possibles. Where do you fit in?

Look into the regulations in the countries you're interested in regarding US citizens working in that country. That could give you an idea of what jobs would actually be available to you.

Also be sure and look into study-abroad opportunities at your school.
