Was u actually sick?
Did you actually visit the doctor?

Also you can self cert yourself for the first 7 days of absence.

Most doctors make you pay for a sicknote in this period as its not neccesary by employment law

p.s Its always best to say you went to the PHARMASIST as they cannot ask proof of this. Its easier than saying you went to the doctor.

I use the excuse also that my friends a nurse - which she is, and I saw her.

FIRST OF ALL YOU SHOULD OF TOLD THE TRUTH AND SAID YOU WOULD SEE IF THERE WAS A OPEN SPOT AT THE DOCTORS. " IF YOU REALLY WERE REALLY SICK" MOST JOB SITES DON'T REQUIRE A NOTE UNTIL 3 DAYS OF BEING OUT. THERE MUST BE A REASON FOR THEM ASKING YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION. THIS MAY NOT BE THE FIRST TIME YOU CALLED OF SICK. YOU ARE REALLY IN A TOUGH SPOT BECAUSE YOU SAID YOU WENT TO THE DOCTORS. SORRY COULD NOT BE OF MORE HELP.. GOOD LUCK! ARE YOU SURE YOU SAID YOU WENT?

most definately i would call HR and find out when a doctor note is required. it is usually after 3 days out that an employer would require one. not knowing where you work I cant tell you much more than that. and if you have no other options, like the man said earlier, make an appointment and just tell the doctor you were not feeling well the day before and your job is requiring a note. the messed up part with that is the doctor will not fill the paperwork out and date it for the day before. his paperwork will show the next day. i would call HR now and find out.

I'm guessing that you weren't sick, and that you didn't go to the doctor?

Part of me wants to say that you shouldn't lie about stuff like that because it catches up with you.

If you want off, just tell them! Or say that you are not feeling well. Not everyone goes to the doctor every time they are sick. That would be expensive!

You can purchase fake doctor's excuses online.

Go to Google and type in Doctor's Excuse. You will find all sorts of sites.

Good luck! And next time you want to lay out of work, don't say you went to the Doctor!

Well if your supposed to get a doctors note because you said you went to the doctor, you shouldn't have lied. Now take accountability.

Go to the Doctor and explain. If it is one you know, (s)he MAY back date the note, but don't count on it.
Without going to the Doctor, you are left with the equivalent of 'the dog ate my homework' when your boss asks for the note.
Careful, though, my company checks - and you just might find yourself facing the music anyway.

And you didn't go to the doctor? I'd say you were in trouble, unless your doctor is willing to lie for you.

Lying is generally a mistake...I'm not talking about right and wrong, I'm talking pragmatism. You have to not get caught and remember what you said. Bad idea to lie at work.

NEVER tell them you went to a dr! I never lied about being sick, but I never went to a doctor either; usually it was a stomach ailment, I have IBS. Couldn't go to the dr anyway; couldn't even make it to the car.
If you actually have a dr all you can do is throw yourself on his mercy and ask him to give you a note but I don't know if that goes against medical ethics or not and if he can get into trouble.
If worse comes to worse, and it might, just tell them you couldnt go to the dr because your stomach was so bad but you thought you had to tell them that.
