Disneyland overall is very kid friendly, they will be able to ride almost everything and if they are daring and tall enough even the thrill rides. If you can afford it book your stay at one of Disney's hotels and book a package. If they are not in your price range book a nearby hotel or motel through hotels.com or cheaptickets.com That time of year you probably wont find speciels on tickets, they usually only offer discount tickets early in the year. The parks will be decorated for Halloween, check the Disney website often as you get closer to your trip and get tickets for Mickey's Halloween party at California Adventure, there is a special parade and trick or treating and other activities, it is a hard ticket event and requires a seperate ticket than your regular park ticket. Make sure you do a character dining experience, you will all love it, there are several and all the characters will come by your table and pose for pictures so you will not have to wait in line at the parks. If you have a birthday coming up you can book a birthday party at the plaza inn on mainstreet, its about $10.00 a person, each gets a cup and their own cake to decorate and there will be characters there also, they do change but I got Mickey and Minnie (I turned 41) and its hard to get a picture with both of them at the same time. There really is a lot to do there and very kid friendly, take a good look at the Disney website, www.disney.go.com and click travel and Disneyland resort, this will show you whats there and you can better choose whats best for your family.
And on a side note, dont go "just for the kids" Disneyland is for everyone, make sure you have some fun to, dont let people tell you because your an adult and parents your not allowed to have fun. If you can try to find some time for just you adults while your there, I believe the Disney hotels offer childcare, you can always take a little time for dinner without the kids, I highly recommend it. Try Blue Bayou, call and book ahead of time and ask for a table by the water, then take a ride on Pirates, or order room service and stay in for a couple of hours.

What an admirable woman! Give them the best. Disneyland, Discovery Zone along the 5 in Santa Ana, Santa Ana Zoo on Main St. Santa Ana, Take in a theater show at Downtown Disney, Knott's is minutes away but don't go in on the previous or next day after D/L. I couldn't tell your point of origin but there are Southern Calif. deals for families, passes to enter both Amusement Parks, and courtesy rides from neighboring hotels. Have a blast!.

When you go to Disneyland, you will have a blast in itself there, then you can take the kids to lego land or sea world, which is in san diego, bout an hour drive- south. Cant go wrong there. The beach of course is always nice, if youre not from California. Even in October itll be nice. ;] Theres just so much to list. The Aquarium in Long Beach is fun and educational for kids as well.

You'll definitely want to spend most of your time in Fantasyland because most of the rides in the other areas of the park are geared for bigger children and adults. You should definitely plan on spending at least 2 days in the park at that time of the year because it is a little crowded in October.
