If I apply for a work Visa to work in UK, can I find a job for a 60 year old?

I am visiting and my passport says I must leave by Dec. 27th. When I go back to America and apply for a Visa I think the only one I can get is a work Visa. Do you know about this? Thank you!

Apply first in a company and when you are hired, present the document showing the acceptance so that you could be issued a working permit.
