don't listen to these guys i agree the army life sucks. there are ways you can get out. if you been in for less then 180 days the is a way. girights.com will explain. I love the flipping burgers comment and i would like to elaborate on this, every NCO i know seems to think that their soldiers will never find a good paying job and will amount to nothing. the army makes it real easy for these NCO and here's how, they don't have to work usually they sit and watch the Joe's. i think these nco's are afraid of what life will be like on the out side. i think it will be the nco's who got comfortable sitting around and making everybody else do the work, who will be flipping burgers.

It is not a federal conviction. You were not read rights? The reserves are not like active duty in that you are a citizen/soldier and spend a great deal of time out of military control. They do not have the myriad options for imposing UCMJ that the Regular Army does. So, they have to resort to other administrative measures to deal with discipline problems. A general under honorable seems about right. You have to be punished because not doing so would send a message that your actions are acceptable (you were an MP NCO so I guess you already know all of this). You do have a DD214 that reflects an honorable discharge. Just saying.

Complete your service honorably. Re-read the oath you took. See if it allows for changing your mind.

"and by the way, i am only 18 and i cant stand the thought of staying in if there is any way to get out, this goes against all that i am, i dont believe in this military thing one bit" - Then you should not have joined. There is no draft. You went to a recruiter and signed the papers.

You should have never joined. What is your mos? If you are only 18 you couldn't have been in that long. Why did you sign the papers in the first place? It is your own damn fault for joining. Suck it up, stop being a cry baby, and finish what you started. You should have a sense of pride for serving your country.

Hey, hotshot! Joined the Army to impress the girls, now you don't like it??
The only way out is with a general or dishohorable discharge, and for the rest of your life it will brand you " a quitter."
Come on, be a man, and see it through. No one forced you to join.

My cousin is in the Army and is thinking of leaving he is 23, but I do not blame you one bit!

Fighting for an unrealistic cause, because of America's greed. My cousin will either do one years notice which is mandatory and is a long time, or will run away to live in Thailand on leave. This will save time messing around and they will not exactly hunt him down over seas.

Your 18, your views on the millitary could not have changed one bit since youve enlisted. Just go awol and go to jail, the army doesnt need dead weight like you anyway.

Then why the hell did you enlist. Grow up you signed a contract see it through. When I was in I saw people doing this and it disgusted me. If you didn't want in you never should have signed up. How much of Basic Training have you done? If you have already completed it just see it through

Can I just ask why you joined in the first place? If you are only 18-you must have just joined, right?
