Dear Friends

My son got his SAT scored today and here is what he has received

750 on Math out of 800
700 on Reading out of 800
690 on Writing out of 800 and
a total of 2140 out of 2400.

Is this considered a good score to get int a decent university?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ram

Well, Universities have a way at looking at things.

High GPA + Lower SAT Score = OK
Lower GPA + High SAT Score = OK

just make sure it balances out.

2140 is a great score!

if he has a good gpa about 3 or higher, i'd say he'd get in to a great university.

Yes that is a good score on a SAT at least compared to what I've seen...

And if I were the head of a University I'd be begging you to come to the University.

Sounds like a very high score, should get the attention of a lot of universities. My son had a 1400 and got a lot on interest from local colleges and universities.

top 25 schools usually prefer kids to have at least a 700 on each section of the SAT, minimum. otherwise, it becomes more difficult. id say your son has a really good shot at getting into a decent university. i suggest you check out this website. It can give you an idea of what school your scores can take you to.
