that when we get rid of ILLEGAL mexicans...America will magically become crime free, welfare dependent free, and unemplyment free!!!....
“ILLEGAL” is a relative social term. Not like Murder, Theft or Fraud, that speak for themselves. Illegal is broad so that it can be stigmatized and thrown to anyone “society” sees fit. May I remind you that without ILLEGAL activity, lots of Americans would still be N1GG3RS.
-DEHUMANIZE: To deprive of human qualities such as individuality, compassion, or civility: slaves who had been dehumanized by their abysmal condition.
-By stamping words such as ILLEGAL and comparisons to inanimate objects you are in fact DEHUMANIZING human beings. It’s a war tactic that can be used to spread racist propaganda.

Technically, it's just a matter of doing paperwork, paying fees - and, most critically, waiting for aproval.
From the PoV of average Americans, though, the difference is that legal immigrants come in limitted numbers, and have already show a basic respect for their country and it's laws, while illegals come in unlimitted numbers (that can only be estimated), and have started off 'on the wrong foot' by breaking the nation's laws. That makes illegals seem like a greater threat to American culture and society than legals.
From the PoV of dishonest employers, the difference is even more striking. Legal immigrants might take slightly less pay than Americans, at first, but they benefit from all the same labor protection laws as citizens. Conversely, illegals can be employed for strikingly lower wages, and, for fear of deportation, do not seek the protection of labor laws even when those laws would likely aply to them.

LEGAL - Going thru the proper channels and steps of immigrating to our country to want to become part of it. They obey the laws because if not, they will be deported. They are respectful of this country.
ILLEGAL - Jumping the border, ignoring visa expirations, etc. with the purpose of getting all the freebies they can.
The majority of the illegal criminal aliens that are working are working for cash. The only taxes they would pay would be sales taxes for a can of beans, or whatever. They are not contributing, or assimilating to this country because their only interest is to send home whatever money they earn and get all the freebies they feel entitled to. They ARE CRIMINALS because they are in this country illegally.
Round them up and deport them all. We did fine without them, and will do fine without them. The ILLEGALS are not wanted.

Question: What is the difference betwee illegal and legal immigration besides paperwork and money?
Equal rendering of the laws, quality of life, education and just about everything else about our lives we can think of, distrubution of public resources to aid appropriate individuals, use of our natural resources, the projected population curve is out of sight, clean water, clean air, massive societal gravitation towards that of another country. Basically, US is being used as the welfare state for Mexico. That means whether you are black, white, German, Irish or whatever or whoever. Even many LEGAL Hispanic US citizens stand against the rampant illegal immigration allowed to continue by the Federal Government. To check the estimated population increases and the population projection curve visit www.numbersusa.com. Or better yet, watch this video.....

They ARE criminals in EVERY sense of the word. They are committing a federal felony punishable by 6 months in federal prison for the first offense and 2 years for the 2nd plus fines and civil fees. Just because the government has been lax in enforcing it's own laws does not negate the fact that they are committing a federal crime.
Legal immigrants are screened for communicable health issues -- illegals are not. As a result, disease such as tuberculosis, leprosy and malaria that were all but irradicated in the US are now endemic.
Legal immigrants are background checked and fingerprinted -- illegals are not. Criminals of all kinds get into the country this way. People can not be traced and work in a sub-culture of false identities.
Legal immigrants must show that they will be a productive and moral member of society -- illegals do not.
Legal immigration provides a fair opportunity to the people of EVERY nation -- illegal immigration does not. The huge disproportionate amount of illegal influx of Mexico and South and Central America is just not fair to the rest of the world.
It goes on and on

First off, any one who breaks the law is, technically, a criminal. That is the definition of criminal.
In the second place, to answer your question, what is the difference between working to buy a house, a car, put money into a bank account and sticking a gun into someone's face to get the money to do the same?
The illegals coming into this country are invaders, and should be dealt with by the military.

The same can be said of a bank withdrawal. If i go thru the proper procedures then it is legal, If i do not then it is illegal, after all it is just some paper work right?..it really isn't hurting anyone. All they want to do is provide for themselves and their family.

B Kevorkian said it perfectly...
It is illegal because crossing an international boundary is against every nations law, not just ours but every single nation has immigration and boundary laws to prevent harm to that nations citizens in many different ways.

Lets see the difference is as a LEGAL:
I had to have a educational check,
~ background check,
~a police check,
~financial check to see if I am bankrupt in my home country
~a full medical, plus a HIV test and TB test.
~Proof that I have integrated into my local community
THAT is the difference

Yes, ILLEGAL. I'll say it again. ILLEGAL. They sneak into the country like a thief breaking into your house. Take a look at this:
http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/10/illegal-immigra.html
ILLEGAL aliens in the San Diego evacuation center STEALING food and water from evacuees. Now you tell me how our country is better off with these invaders here.
> "Do you know why it's illegal..."
Part of what it means to be a sovereign nation is the right to dictate who passes through one's borders, and to track those whom we allow through. Failure to do so can have serious consequences (think 9/11, Dutch Elm Disease, Bubonic Plague) Imagine what would happen were I to sneak across the Canadian border in, say, Montana. The RCMP would have me in jail and deported within an hour! Wouldn't it be ludicrous of me to insist on free housing and healthcare?

Well you may take it light the paper work, but legally you cant come if you had been incarcerated, be a prostitute, police records,
being sick, like tuberculosis, gonorrhea, when you pass the medical examination your health must be in extremely good condition, besides dont belong to Communist party, there are thousands of questions. when you came illegally, you just pass by luck, and what money you refers too?
