I am a freshman college student and today I went to an information meeting on International Student Volunteers trips. I would really, really love to go on one of these trips, but I know I wouldn't be able to afford it on my own. There is the option of getting sponsors and donations to raise money to go. So I was wondering if there is any one who has gone on an ISV trip and offset most or all of the cost who could tell me how difficult it was to raise the money. Tips on how to do it. All that. I haven't sent in an application yet because I don't want to get to excited only to find out I can't afford it.

Will your parents help you out at all? Other family members?

First, I would check with a local newspaper in your HOMETOWN (not college town) and see if they would let you write an article that documents your travels/experience. If so, you could EASILY get local businesses to help sponsor you because you would mention them in the article ("all the people that made it possible") and it's FREE advertising for them! (Well, besides what they donate to your trip)

Just a thought...good luck!

What are your pastimes; cooking, writing, pets, babies, etc. attempt to do what you be conscious of or think of you're able to do good at. Then tell your individuals to do a similar. All 3 of you may save up money and use the potluck device. All chip in and use it frivolously on transportation and someplace to relax. you in basic terms have like 2 months so start up in the week. Get a job(different than fastfood or cashier). attempt to connect some freelance(you write memories so which you do no longer flow into paintings, you paintings at your guy or woman %..) activity alongside with chores. flow around and attempt to e book all your weekends with unusual-jobs. it would desire to be very tedious and boring, in spite of the undeniable fact that all of it will pay off in the top. never flow with on the spot gratification(going out on the weekends). P.S. My kin is community to South Korea, your going to like it.

If its religious in nature maybe your local church might help you out or a member in the church, Also maybe some one who is from the country you are going to, You might find a business owner in this country that might sponsor you, You could be a walking talking advertisement for them.
