The general consensus among women are that vampire or pirate costumes are hot, I'm just curious what the reason is...thanks.

for me, vampire costumes are very sexy because any vampire movie I have ever seen has been extremely sexual (whether directly or indirectly)- plus, it has been proven through studies that the mere fact that vampires tend to touch the neck sends some women over the top. Believe it or not, the way a neck is touched can be very erogenous.

Pirates... I have no idea. Every pirate in movies has been very ugly. Plus, they never get the girl!

It's not just the costumes it's the whole fantasy of being caught up in 'old world' erotisism. It's not so much the look, it's the image it represents. The Vampire has always been an erotic figure and one intended to be sexually alluring. A creature that bites his victims neck will always be a turn-on to most sexually charged females. As for the erotic image of the Pirate, this is possibly more perverse, for the nature of this character is to rape and pillage, therefore, the turn-on in this instance is certainly more obscure and kinky. This probably explains why the vampire wins the most votes on this question. It's all about pyschology.

Pirates... hot?! NO! Vampires...... Oh YES! Vampirism and the way it has been perceived over the years has shown it to be a very sexual, sensual activity. Many women find being a ''victim'' in a sexual act very arousing, which is where S&M of the male domanance came about. And someone hot who is immortal? Yeahh! thats fit! As long as its a open shirted vamp, not a dracula clone.. sideburns dont do it for us girls!

It isn't the vampire, witch, or pirate themselves. It's the fact that they choose to do it a certain way. They pick out the short skirt, the low cut top, they just... Have a theme to go with it. In the words of Jim Gaffigan; "Halloween is just an excuse for women to dress like prostitutes". It's mostly true, anyway ;)

Heck if i know.. i think a man in uniform is hot.. not too sure about costumes.. tarzan would be tho if he had a nice body...vampire costumes have too much make up so I don't see anything hot there personally. As for pirates....hmmm must be the movies ........LOL

Well you can thank Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom for the pirate thing.

The vampire thing i'm not so sure maybe it's the whole sexy biting thing.

Vampires and Pirates are bad. That is, they live in the moment, only caring about what THEY want.

Lots of women find this sexy, right up until they try to live with one.

"Its all well and good until his parot poops on the couch."

Those costumes are hot on women, not on men.

yes, very hot. because they both are from sensual characters - you picture the sexy vampire taking you in his arms in an eternal embrace... or the hard bodied pirate fighting to save you.... just. sexy - i dunno. there are tons and tons of romance novels featuring vampires and pirates as the male leads - perhaps the badboy thing is sexy,it is to me.
