A couple of weeks ago i went on a trip to Poland to visit Auschwitz and i met a guy in my group that i only really said one sentence to. We started talking over the internet and he asked me to coffee...the thing is...there doesn't seem to be any...spark. I mean, i don't know if you can tell if there's chemistry between two people over a screen, but he doesn't seem exactly my type. So, should i go for coffee or shouldn't i? :)

Why not? Even if you are not interested in him as a lover or boyfriend, you may be able to get a friend out of the deal. Besides, at the very least you get a cup of coffee out of it.

You may find that you are attracted to him in person where you were not on the internet. Just be careful & make sure that you don't go anywhere alone with him. Just because he didn't pull anything on the trip doesn't mean that he won't try to pull something later on. Gotta do that whole internet dating speech, dontcha know.

I've felt spark over the internet with a guy once. We had SO much in common, though, and ended up dating after about 1 1/2 months of talking online. Every time I saw him online, my heart skipped a beat and my face lit up with excitement. There can definitely be chemistry! However, if there isn't any, don't try to generate it. I'd say go have coffee with the guy, though. You may as well - what have you got to lose? You may find that you have more in common than you realize right now. In person is always better than online, anyway. Good luck!

Roberta, a coffee is not going to hurt you at all. Besides even if there isn't a spark you might make a new friend, and who of us has too many of them. But he may be someone completely different in person than he is on-line and the two of you might actually hit it off. There is only one way of finding out and it sounds like a coffee might just be the perfect way to find out if there is any attraction between you two. Best of luck and have a nice trip.

Go for coffee, no harm in it!
Besides, just because you don't feel a spark between the two of you doesn't mean that you two can't be good friends!

Coffee never hurt no one. If there is no spark in person like there isnt on screen you dont have to see him again. Just make sure he knows it is only coffee

Have a coffee, make a friend, and go on with life. you can't always tell in one sentence, and the internet is impersonal. Who knows.

um i'd say go to coffee, if there is nothing at the end of coffee then be straight up, don't worry about hurting his feelings he will ge over it, hes a man! so just tell him that you don't feel any chemistry and you would still like to be friends...if thats the case!

Have the coffee, study him, then make your decision, don't judge by the screen, judge in person.
