My cat likes to bite and pull out the feathers. Does anyone know where I could buy the plastic covers like the ones lamp shades come with when you buy them new?
I know it sounds tacky, but it's better than what I am doing now which is using the lamps with a bare bulb and no shade :)

I dont think the plastic cover is the answer to your problem. If you put the plastic material over the shade you are not supposed to use the light due to a fire hazzard. Next time you are in a store that sells shades, look at the material around the shade and it will have a sticker on it that says to remove before using. Of course this is just precautionary but I would hate to hear that your cat got b-b-qued in a fire. I would just buy another lamp and put that lamp and shade somewhere the cat cant get to it.
