Would that not be an explanation for why "God" allows bad things to happen? He's passive and doesn't have it in him to change the way mankind treats each other.

Oh, now THIS is a good question!

Yes, it does entail benevolence toward bad things. Not that they are to be condoned, but that the person doing the bad things is to be loved/forgiven--akin to 'Love the sinner, not the sin.'

On the other hand, when you're looking at some guy who shoved his wife and child out of a moving vehicle, giving them severe head injuries--loving someone like that is hard to do. Sometimes, I think there are people who only God can love.

Yes, agreed.

If God is omnipotent and allows satan/evil to exist and chooses not to help us then he is not good.

If he is good then he has no power over satan and is therefore not omnipotent.

It is more likely that man made up god. There are too many things in the Bible and Koran and Torah that don't make any sense. Thats why I call them the Holey Books.

Your statement is absurd and in no way taught in the Bible:

"You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil;
with you the wicked cannot dwell.

The arrogant cannot stand in your presence;
you hate all who do wrong.

You destroy those who tell lies;
bloodthirsty and deceitful men
the LORD abhors."

Psalm 5:4-6

"God is a righteous judge,
a God who expresses his wrath every day.

If he does not relent,
he will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.

He has prepared his deadly weapons;
he makes ready his flaming arrows.

He who is pregnant with evil
and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment.

He who digs a hole and scoops it out
falls into the pit he has made.

The trouble he causes recoils on himself;
his violence comes down on his own head."

Psalm 7:11-16

Bad things simply do not distract you from knowing God's grace. They cannot when you know God. You fear nothing.

It's not that God doesn't have it in Him, it's that people don't (think they) have God in them.

God is true omnipresence, people simply doubt it.
