I'm going to cry. The intellectual putrefaction in this thread is really depressing.
Any belief without "valid proof", or at least a large body of evidence, is immoral. Always. We can't lower our standards of evidence to the point where we become susceptible to individuals like the aforementioned David Koresh.
To everyone who says they would know he was lying "because the Bible told me so", understand that this man claiming to be the messiah would have just as much evidence as you do for your own beliefs.

Good Q
A lot of ppl have claimed to be the Messiah and considered crazy...so what if Jesus is sitting in a mental institution wondering what went wrong?
I personally don't believe he's coming back

No, because the Bible tells us the exact manner in which Christ will return; it will be in the clouds of Heaven with all the angels of Heaven, which will be impossible for Man or Satan to counterfeit. He will not touch the ground this time. Therefore, if someone who is touching the ground comes to me and claims to be the Messiah, I will know that he's lying.

no one can prove to be the Jewish messiah anymore, because the Temple was destroyed in 70 a.d. with all it's records, lineages, etc. No one knows anymore who is from the line of David as the messiah is supposed to be.
Conclusion: Jesus Christ, the son of David, is the Christ/Messiah.

He only lists 2 miracles that Jesus did and tried to repute them. The Bible is FULL of miracles Jesus has done here on earth, and there were many witnesses to these miracles. Also, Jesus fulfilled ALL of the Old Testament Prophesies, not just a couple, but ALL of them. Who could fake that? It's been calculated that how many prophesies Jesus fulfilled is one in a trillion, trillion, trillion, trilllion, ( I actually forget how many trillions ;) )chance that someone could fulfill all the prophesies He did. Now that is somebody I believe in and want on my side!!!

If David Koresh came back to life I would believe his claim that he was the Messiah.

well, it's pretty obvious to me anyway that I would first judge him on his appearance (i'm human), then, do I know him as the guy down the block whos been saying this for years and at the same time says "I'm Santa"....after that's been squared off then I would ask him to perform a Godly miracle (shouldn't be too much too ask)

Ask for proof, the bible warns about those who claim to be him. If it is Jesus we will know because Jesus said my sheep will know my voice. May God Bless You.
