Time to stop playing pretend and find out what He did tell you. He is going to hold you accountable for every thought, word and deed.

"In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."

Acts 17:30-31

Actually, God was a sadistic son of a batch, so I wouldn't be surprised at all. But seeing as how I wouldn't want to go to any Heaven that has such a being in it, I would ever so politely tell God to go **** himself and claim my free ticket to Hell, thank you.

To be serious, the bastard in the Old Testament was quite nasty, telling people to kill each other and such all the damned time, and if people think for one minute that I'm going to think he up and changed (New Testament) then they better think again.

PS:

God was responsible for over a million deaths in the Bible. Satan was responsible for... oh, about ten? That should tell you something right there. -.-

It's -GOD- that sent the plagues. It's -GOD- who sent his little angels down to kill people. -Satan- was sitting in his Lake of Fire sipping a martini. Christians of the world: stop putting blame on other people just because it's convenient for you.

Do you know what I find laughable? People who claim to be in direct contact with god are considered mentally ill. "God" would have counseling sessions with folks here and there, while others were supposed to accept it. If it happens today, theists cannot accept that they aren't worthy of one-on-one's with god, so they dismiss anything said by a person claiming to be in contact with god.

If god did tell someone to kill his/her family, then not only is that a sick and twisted god, but a god that I wouldn't want to go to heaven for and spend eternity with.

A "true" follower would. Just like Abraham... that lowly little blankety blank. If I were God (an honest, just god that is) I would have torn Abraham a new one for his willingness to kill his own child out of sheep-like, pathetic loyalty... rather than to do the right thing. Only a sadistic god is capable of praising someone for this.

Ask Andrea Yates.

I wouldn't worship a god who asked me to kill my family. That's disgusting. In fact, even as a child, the story of Abraham being asked to sacrifice Isaac made my stomach turn. I'd spend an eternity in hell before I killed my own child or husband (barring a "mercy killing" type of scenario, of course).

God does not contradict himself. He would not tell someone to do something that was against his word or commandments. He said Honor you father and mother. Why would he then tell you to kill them? He said you should not kill. he said love your neighbor as yourself.

God does not go against Himself and His own Laws.

Switch religions to one that has a nicer god. One that will let you into heaven no matter what.

There are always other options.

that particular god would be told to go f--k himself, then a trip to the mental ward would be in order to get rid of the voices in my head
