My friend has scabies and she has had them for about 1 month and half, supposedly. And i havent talked to her in 3 weeks. Although I was with her the 3 weeks previous. And my friends have been around her for the whole 6 weeks. I am very scared that her having scabies is going to lead to me. So, what are the chances I might get it? I dont even know because I dont talk to her anymore but its possible I could still get it right? What if i dont right now, how can i make it so i dont get it in the next couple of weeks until she knows for sure if it was scabies or not?

Well first she needs to go to the doctor ASAP.... Scabies is contagious spread by skin to skin contact.

Often you can see dark lines under the skin. But not always. And as everyone has said, the itching.

Kwell lotion (lindane) is used to treat scabies. Mostly these days they use Elimite (Permethrin 5%) or the generic. Nix is permethrin 1%, and is used for head lice.

Treatment is very effective after one application, but since this is a mite infestation, they still cause itching after they have been killed. This itching can persist for 2 to 4 weeks, so people often don't believe they have been cured.

Benadryl or generics (diphenhydramine) are effective for the itching.

The chances you might get it? Scabies are not that uncommon. Try not to worry too much. If you do get scabies, it would not necessarily be from your friend. It is important you get treated if you get it, just like with head lice.

What is bad is people who get it and just keep spreading it, rather than getting rid of it. Even worse are people who don't warn their friends. If you ever do speak to your friend again, you should thank her for the warning. It sounds like she didn't get one.

Do you itch between your fingers? Do you have a rash on your hand or the upper part of your body? get some quail lotion from your doctor. This can not go untreated. These are very contagious. You can start with buying some rid for lice. This helps too. Just don't over do the rid or the doctor won't give you quell lotion since they both are strong chemicals and can harm the brain. Again, ask your health care professional. Stay away from any and all association of that girl. best of luck. If you itch you are contagious!

First off, id learn how to write correctly.... As far as your problem goes you should just confront them, tell them you're pissed instead of "excluding" yourself from them, your giving validity to what their saying....
