The show was like a series and it had many episodes that pertained to people getting killed in the woods and on camp sites. Tragedy also struck throughout different areas as well. It came on near midnight on Saturdays.

"Saturday Nightmares" wasn't a series per se...it was the Sarturday night slot for horror films and reruns of series like "The Hitchhiker" (just as the "Crimebusters" strand on Wednesday nights was for crime/detective movies and series).

It was cut back starting around 1990 as the rights to a lot of the movies featured began to expire (those USA still had were shuttled of to USA's then-new "Up All Night" and the series were sent down the hall to the newly-created Sci-Fi Channel by 1992). It was a movie-only slot until it was finally dropped circa 1994.
