Yeah it's normal if your girlfriend can't make that promise because she's probably not ready to settle down yet. Give her some space dude. Listen, I know that it hurts to find out that the one you love can't promise you that but she is free to explore. Let her think about. She's just wondering if your the one or not. Don't be disappointed and give her some space. Your welcome.

I think that she is seeing other people on the side...My friends was in the same exact situation, & I agree with what someone else said and that is because she is not sure if you are the right one....She's not ready to settle down...If she cant give you an honest answer.. Don't get your feelings hurt.. Seems already that you are putting too much effort into this and she's not.

Um, that makes her a better person. She has integrity. No one can EVER promise that they won't leave.
If you promised her that you are a big liar and she should already be gone.
If you cheat on her she is not allowed to leave? What if you beat her? Rape her? too bad she promised not to leave huh?
