If i can bike about 12 miles at an almost completely steady pace of 10mph up and down hills. But i cant even do 1 mile running. Its not that my legs get tired, i just run out of breathe. But biking this doesnt happen unless i try to go really fast. Im 16, no diseases and such. Is this normal?

Yeah that happened to me, I could ride my bike for hours at a pretty fast pace but then I couldn't even run one mile in less then 10 minutes so I decided that that sucked and started running more often. Now I can run 5 miles in about 30 minutes. But my mile time is only 7 minutes something seconds.

That's what happened when I started running. I could ride a bike for miles. My legs would burn a little, but I could keep going and never had a hard time breathing. When I started running my legs and ankles hurt and could barely run a mile. After I bought the right shoes, breathing became the bigger issue when running. I started to think about my breathing while running and trying to regulated it. I made sure I was taking even breaths. The only way to increase your cardiovascular system is to just keep plugging away by doing a little more each time. Make sure you don't over-exert your self. Just push yourself enough to improve yourself.

Yeah, it sounds normal. Try running smaller distances then increasing in distance every other time you run.

Example: Run 1/4 mile then increase to 1/2 =)

Yes, i used to cycle a lot(around 2/4 miles a day during schooldays) when i was 11/12, but when doing things like bleep tests i was only able to get scores like 5.4. In cycling less effort is used, makes sense that you should find running harder

1. Riding a bike is much easier that running.
2. 10 mph is not that fast.

It's just more work and impact than you're used to. Nothing helps you run better but running.

Try to run at an easy pace and work your way up to a faster mile. You're in shape, you just have to get your body used to running too.

Riding a bike can't compare to running.
Riding is simply too easy, and apparently its starting to show.

It's normal. Just run moderately with increased distance in another running session.

Don't forced yourself to exhaust all your energy in one setting. It's dangerous.
