Well people who have a tendency to wear slick undergarments are typically found to be young and live in Asia.

You drunk? Come on, there haven't been THAT many "If we came from monkeys" questions yet today.

I suppose the "slippery slope" argument against euthanasia would be that if we allow "mercy killing" under certain circumstances, where do we draw the line? Before we know it, Kevorkian will be yanking your grandma's plug just because she decided she didn't want the hospital jell-o that day.

I think that's total nonsense, but I suppose that's more or less how the argument goes.

Once you make it OK to kill someone, where do you draw the line?
Euthanasia is the obvious "next step" after abortion...I'm just surprised it took so long.
So, next, we say that it is OK for a person to decide they are tired of living...of course, once the deed is done, it's too late for Uncle Johnny to change his mind, but, hey, he SAID he wanted to die, right?
Then what? How long before it's OK to slip Granny a nice comfy shot because the old girl's upkeep is putting a strain on the budget?
How long before it's OK to put deformed or terminally ill children out of their misery...and ours?
What about the hopelessly disabled? Mentally incompetent? Insane?
Who decides?

Slippery slope? The argument says that if euthanasia is allowed, then we're a small step away from allowing other types of suicide. Then we'll start to allow murder. (I don't like the argument.)

Slippery slope? The only objection that I have for euthanasia is that it could be easily misused. For example, a son doesn't want to support his parents, so he "conspires" with a doctor to euthanise them before they wish to be, or we extend it to cover seriously mentally impaired, then just mentally impaired and then anyone society deems as mentally impaired - this could be any group that society thinks is "impaired". This is a slippery slope.

Hmmmmm, well ok....... the HUMAN side of me wants it to be ok, I hate to see people suffer..... but, the Spiritual side of me KNOWS it is a NO NO...... To kill is to kill.... to help another take their own life, even if I was not there, is still killing in Gods eyes.......... may make no sense, but that is how I have to look at it........ sooo, it still remains slippery I guess...... go in peace........ God bless
