This guy is supposed to be "training" him. He works at Cummins. My boyfriend said that he constantly expels how he knows nothing and that he is better because he knows more. Witch in actuality he seems to know less. He says people that have worked 2nd shift are lazy good nothings. My boyfriend has worked 2nd shift but there is nothing to do second shift. It’s not anyone’s fault. My boyfriend was changing the oil and this guy told him that he was not spill oil! Of course you’re going to spill oil. Then when oil would drip he would complain that he was not cleaning it up right away. There no use in cleaning it up right away you'd spend forever cleaning and it would take a long time to change the oil. He would stand there the whole time and complain. So this guy just loves to rant about how much better he is than him and when he is not. My boyfriend never says a word to him. I think he is scared to say anything because it would probably get him fired or something.

He has only worked there for a little over a month. . So it would be his word over my boyfriends. He does not want to risk loosing it. They could fire him just for complaining to his boss about someone. Saying he is unable to work with others or something. They will do that when your in probationary period. What should he do?

This is one of the best jobs around for him and he wants to keep it. Because it allows him to work up instead of one pay your whole life like a lot of car places. Plus he can choose to do different things, plenty of different jobs.

I just went through a similar situation. In the end, I DID get fired. Your B/F is right to lay low around that guy but what I learned through my experience was that I should have talked to the supervisor. Like your B/F I didn't want to be the new guy who didn't get along but in the end it all came down on me 'cause I didn't say anything. At least if something does happen he can say that he did everything by the book and be able to go to the boss's boss with a credible story. I wish him the best of luck.

This guy is going to be an ongoing problem; he will cvontinue to pick on and harrass your b/f. He has two choices: To suck it up and work through it (which will be very difficult because it seems this guy is intent on getting him fired; must view him as competition) or start looking for another job. Since your b/f knows about cars finding another job should not be difficult; he can look after work and on his days off; you can help too but no one shold have to work with this sort of bullying. Yes, there will always be someone who will seek someone else out to harrass but what you describe is ridiculous.

First and foremost this is your boyfriends matter to attend to at work. He should be nice and cordial and try to do his absolute best. He is after all in his probationary period. So, this guy likes to hear himself talk it's not that big a deal.. Your bf. just needs to "tune him out" and try to the best of his ability to conform to the "rules" of the shop. I wouldn't worry about him getting fired if he is doing his best and trying. Good luck to your bf.

your bf cant be fired if he is being harrased by another employee, no matter how senior he is. And this sounds like harrasement, which will lead to him being unable to do his job, which will get him fired. Have him talk to the boss abt getting another trainer, he would be much better off going above this guys head.

They can't fire your boyfriend for saying someone is being unreasonable. That's illegal. Tell your boyfriend to either complain to the boss, or ignore the guy. If he gets fired for complaining, he can take those people to court, no quesitons asked.
