No he was not. According to Jewish Law the religion of the child is passed down through the Mother. Mary was Jewish, so Jewish was Jewish. Jesus was born a Jew and died a Jew. Christianity was formed long after he had died. Between the time of his death and the birth of Christianity. Peter and Paul taught a small sect of reformed Judaism.

Good question. Jesus Christ means Jesus the anointed. The believers were first called Christians at Antioch.Which would mean followers of Christ. In that sence He was not a Christian.

Jesus was born to Jewish parents, was educated in the Jewish religion and very well versed in it (remember at 12 he was holding his own with Scribes at the temple) and he followed Jewish traditions. He believed in ONE God, who was Greater than him. He may have been a radical in certain aspects but he was still very traditional and observed the passover and other Jewish celebrations etc.

Christianity came long after Jesus died.

Dear brother,

All have answered without any authentic proof. But I could produce you the proof that jesus was not a christian.

Allah says in Quran
Proof that Jesus in Messenger of God
"And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and christians), but must believe in him (Iesa (jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), as only a Messenger of Allah and a human being), before his (Iesa (jesus) or a Jews or a christians) death (at the time of the appearance of the angel of death). And on the Day of Resurrection, he (Iesa (jesus)) will be a witness against them"
(4:159)

Proof that Islam is selected by Allah for mankind
"...This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you islam as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above-mentioned meats), then surely, Allah is OftForgiving, Most Merciful" (5:3)

Proof that all Messengers from Adam (peace be upon him) are Muslims:
And this (submission to Allah, islam) was enjoined by Ibrahim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Yaqoob (Jacob), (saying), "O my sons! Allah has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of islam (as Muslims - islamic Monotheism)." Chapter #2, Verse #132

How could jesus (peace be upon him) be alone christian when Allah has selected Islam(monotheism) as the religion of his Prophets and for the whole of mankind?

No, he was a Jew. I love the Christians who always ask themselves "what would Jesus do?" when trying to make a decision... well, first of all, he wouldn't be Christian.

No, he can't have been. He couldn't believe in a risen Christ unless he was also a time traveller. But, hold on, if he was God incarnate, then he wouldn't be limited by time. So perhaps he was .......
