U.S. Citizens and their children get nothing but "screwed". Yes, our current government policies actually encourage illegal immigrants to have children on U.S. Soil. Additionally, the lack of law enforcement on corporations and people who hire, harbor and help illegal immigrants promotes organized crime and encourages more and more illegal immigrants to flood the USA. As their numbers grow so does their audacity and their demands for entitlements and rights. As long as the government doesn't require laws to be enforced (except on U.S. Citizens) and permits "Sanctuary Cities" the influx of lawbreakers will continue and will continue to increase. Since the 1986 amnesty we have had a 400-600% increase in the illegal immigrant population. And since the birth rate has 52% attribution to Hispanics and the number of children per family is on the average of 4 but more like 6 to 12 who were born on U.S. soil and therefore considered citizens, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that this is a method of warfare upon the USA. If each of the illegal immigrants has 2 children and their children each have 2 or more children and this is happening on a daily basis, you can see where in the next 20 years, we will be overrun with the children of illegal immigrants from all countries and the USA will cease to exist as a lawful nation but will be as corrupt as Mexico and other countries. Law-abiding citizens are already understanding that we are being enslaved by the lack of meaningful law enforcement and by a traitorous government. We will begin having problems feeding these masses or immigrants and with most of the illegal immigrants and immigrants in general sending their money outside the USA while collecting ADC and other benefits for their "citizen" children (which should not be--if they're born to illegals, then the children should be illegal too), we will be a third world nation within the next 20 years. If you don't believe me, look at the standard of living decline over the past 20 years. U.S. Citizens have less disposable income, the costs have increased but wages have actually declined. Real estate taxes are causing people who have worked all their lives to be taxed out of their homes and jobs are being outsourced continually. Who is going to support all these illegal immigrants and their children when the middle class no longer exists? I didn't make up the numbers. Pew Hispanic Center, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Numbers USA, and numerous other organizations have compiled studies that reveal these statistics and if they are read and understood in their entirety, the average U.S. Citizen would be quaking in their boots as regards their safety and security and even their pensions.

No disrespect, however I work for a hotel and apartment building in the Arlington/ Ballston, Virginia Area.
It's like I'm living in another country.
There are so many pregnant women from other countries living here for 1-12 months, staying here on Visa's to birth their child before returning home with the child's Duel USA Citizenship.
Does anybody care that these new babies from other countries are getting a U.S.A. Social Security Number before going back home with U.S.A. Dual Citizenship?

Well, since Americans stopped having enough kids in 1966, the country /does/ need re-populating. But, aside from that, no, the parents aren't rewarded with thier child's citizenship. Citizenship is a right of all natural-born Americans. What parents are rewarded with is the 'family reunification' policy that lest the child, upon attaining adulthood 'sponsor' the parents. They also often garner sympathy when faced with deportation.
While the citizenship rights of natural-born Americans should under no circumstances be abridged, there should be no policy of granting the alien parents of such Americans preference in immigration, nor should the parental rights of alien parents be infringed by leaving thier children in America when they are deported. The kids should absolutely go with the parents.

In the first place, some portion of the women coming north to have children do not have fathers for their children. We pay the full cost.
In the second place, in some cases, the mothers are sponsered by the Mexican Mafia who then uses them as they reside in this country.
Finally, while they currently receive citizenship, they should **not be** receiving citizenship.

Those anchor babies cost this country about nine billion a year. That does not include the cost of supporting the mother until the child is 18. Congress and Mr. Bush could change this very quickly, but the billions spent just don't mean anything to our Congress.

I think that it is the reason most of these children are brought into the world. I do not believe that the illegals are having children to drop in the U.S. because they are happily married and want to have a child. What a selfish act to bring a child into the world to only use it as an anchor for your own selfish wants. I feel sorry for these children. This is one law that should be immediately abolished to that the criminals will no longer be encouraged to drop these anchors in this country and expect the citizens to support them. Giving them drivers license as they are trying in NY is another bad law that encourages them to come. Once they have a drivers license then they can legally vote. What a scary thought. Citizens of other countries deciding who Will run this country.

More like over-populate the country. The adjustment period when criminals try to run things their way is a bad thing. This will have a high cost in society. A cost that the future we're mortgaging by this over-population is not worth. The US is not going to get the bang for the bucks on this one.
The only thing I would do different is send the US born brats home with their mother, with whom they belong. Kids have to be raised by their parents. If the parents chose to disobey the law and put their child in peril of separation then those are not fit parents and should have their child permanently taken away.

Outside of England we are the only industrial western nation that does this stupid policy.
England is also having huge issues with the problems of a policy that rewards illegal activity, gives priority to people who would otherwise be unfit to immigrate, increases our tax base as the majority are uneducated and low-income, brings unhealthy people into contact with our citizens and generally is plain WRONG in every aspect.
the politicians don't have the guts to change it because the open borders lobby is well funded and will scream racism. They are afraid of those racists Latino groups like laraza.

I heard that the government is looking into changing how this whole anchor baby thing is.
Giving citizenship to a baby born to illegals might be about to change.
I think one of the has to be an actual citizen IF indeed this rumor is true.

US Citizen's get the reward of paying for the bilingual education of these children so they and their parents can have the freedom of violating our laws while supporting Mexico with US earned dollars. When they are awarded Amnesty by Congress they can then be come Citizens and sponsor others who will increase our tax burden.

Senate rejects kids citizenship measure
Opponents call the Dream Act 'amnesty' for immigrant children.
By Nicole Gaouette and Johanna Neuman, Los Angeles Times Staff Writers
October 25, 2007
WASHINGTON -- The Senate on Wednesday rejected a bill offering the children of illegal immigrants a path to citizenship if they serve in the military or complete two years of higher education. The defeat of the measure, which had attracted bipartisan support, underscored the difficulty of enacting even a narrowly tailored proposal in the polarizing atmosphere surrounding immigration reform.
The vote on the proposal was 52 to 44, short of the 60-vote margin needed to prevent a filibuster and begin debate.
The Dream Act would give conditional legal status to illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States at least five years and entered the country before age 16. They must graduate from high school, have no criminal record and have a "good moral character."
If these immigrants serve in the military or complete two years of higher education, the conditional status would be lifted. After five years, they could apply for citizenship.

What would when the brighter kids opt for two years of college or the military.
would the military have to lower its standards?
the community colleges have the freedom to change their cirriculem
they have remedial courses
don't think the Military needs to be operating high schools.
babies born in U.S are citizens automatically.
