Surely God is not going to be so cheap as to let generations of American citizens pay for this with their hard-earned shekels?

The revelation comes after Mr Bush launched an impassioned attack yesterday in Washington on Islamic militants, likening their ideology to that of Communism, and accusing them of seeking to "enslave whole nations" and set up a radical Islamic empire "that spans from Spain to Indonesia". In the programmeElusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, which starts on Monday, the former Palestinian foreign minister Nabil Shaath says Mr Bush told him and Mahmoud Abbas, former prime minister and now Palestinian President: "I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.' And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George go and end the tyranny in Iraq,' and I did."

Bush was wrong. The Islamist militant ideology shares more in common with Fascism than Communism.

As for the Iraq war being characterized as "George Bush's misadventures" may I remind you that it was Congress that gave war with Iraq authorization and that was done with both Democrats and Republicans.

And we do not know if it is even a failure yet. The story is not finished.

God already paid thousands of years ago when His "only begotten Son died on the Cross for our sins."
As for Bush, misadventures doesn't really describe the horrors of this contrived war for profit. Genocide, massacre, etc. As for being cheap, Bush is a man who saw a way to garner hundreds of billions of dollars for himself and his cronies by way of Halliburton at the cost of thousands of lives; it is doubtful he will trouble himself about anyone else or the ramifications of his greed.

When has the Biblical god ever paid anybody back for anything? In my experience, he mostly just takes away from us.
