And more importantly, which version of the bible is the 'real' version?

The only reason that the bible exists in one volume is because several committees throughout history have decided to bind them together. It's not naturally even one book, but instead a library.

The Bible is actually just a bunch of texts describing ancient mythology. If by true you mean that is it the way that they viewed their universe in their day, then it's true simply because it describes their thinking. However, if by true you mean that you can base decisions, law, government, human rights, and science upon its writing, then this is patently absurd as even a proposition. It's only because human beings are such creatures of habit that it has maintained its status in the world.

EDIT: Jammal: Another book that is all about peace and love is Winnie the Pooh. AA Milne must be a prophet.

There is a knowing of a nkowing of a knowing, that you know that you know without any Doubts, Atheist will call this Brainwashing as they lack the ability to understand the things that are of the spirit of God (1st Cor 2;14)

When a person is saved (really saved) his.her mind is Transformed (Meaning Metamorphosis) in the Greek (Romans 12:2) .

Those who are not simply just cannot know or have the ability to know these things lest the spirit calls them.

Now..as for what Bible is the real one,

Think about this, when the Bible was Translated into English in 1611 it used the words used in England at that time, well..may of the words used at that time don't have the same meaning as they do now, so the Bible is Translated into English from the original Manuscripts into the words or words in English that have the same meaning as used in todays language, Some Bibles like the NIV are not a 'word for word" translation but a meaning for meaning for meaning translation in commonly used language in use today.

I have more on this, but to write more, would possibly not be read.

God still speaks in this day and age. In answer to my voiced prayer request for guidance, He spoke to me a chapter and verse in His book. This chapter and verse DIRECTLY answered my question. He could have spoken the answer, but He wanted me to find it in His book. Here's the part that convinced me: For many months leading up to this occurrence I had been wondering, like you, which Bible is the "right" one. An even deeper question had been bothering me. "Can I really trust any of today's bibles because of mans habit of rewriting the truth??" I hadn't voiced this question to anyone, not even touched upon it in prayer, it just kept bugging me.
Well, by sending me to His Book for the first answer, He was showing me that I can trust the answers I would find there. Ain't it just like our God to answer two questions at once, the voiced one and the unvoiced one(which was really the more important one).
Can I trust His book? YOU BETCHA!!!
Do I trust it? YES!!
The first version that I went to for the answer was the Gideons International version but after studying many other versions including the KJV, NKJV, JB, NJB, LB, NLB, AB, NAB, TAB etc. they all said the same thing with different words or word orders.
Let His Spirit be your guide into all truth!
Ask Him. He won't let you down.

It taken 1600 years to write the Bible, which contains 66 books, by 40 writers, and all harmonize with each other. Prophecy's were for filled that were written thousands of years ago. The Bible is a Revelation of God, of the fall of man, the way of salvation. Man could not have written it on his own, and would not if he could All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God. We are to understand that God directed men, chosen by Himself, to put into writing such messages, laws, doctrines, historical facts, and revelation, as He wished men to know.

There are more ancient copies of the bible that are in existence then any other ancient document. We dont question the existence of those, yet we question the bible.

Dramatically, when the Bible manuscripts are compared to other ancient writings, they stand alone as the best-preserved literary works of all antiquity. Remarkably, there are thousands of existing Old Testament manuscripts and fragments copied throughout the Middle East, Mediterranean and European regions that agree phenomenally with each other. 1 In addition, these texts substantially agree with the Septuagint version of the Old Testament, which was translated from Hebrew to Greek some time during the 3rd century BC. 2 The Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in Israel in the 1940's and 50's, also provide astounding evidence for the reliability of the ancient transmission of the Jewish Scriptures (Old Testament) in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd centuries BC. 3

The manuscript evidence for the "New Testament" is also dramatic, with nearly 25,000 ancient manuscripts discovered and archived so far, at least 5,600 of which are copies and fragments in the original Greek. 4 Some manuscript texts date to the early second and third centuries, with the time between the original autographs and our earliest existing fragment being a remarkably short 40-60 years. 5

Renowned Bible scholar F.F. Bruce declares:

There is no body of ancient literature in the world which enjoys such a wealth of good textual attestation as the New Testament. 7

Homer's Iliad, the most renowned book of ancient Greece, is the second best-preserved literary work of all antiquity, with 643 copies of manuscript support discovered to date. In those copies, there are 764 disputed lines of text, as compared to 40 lines in all the New Testament manuscripts. 8 In fact, many people are unaware that there are no surviving manuscripts of any of William Shakespeare's 37 plays (written in the 1600's), and scholars have been forced to fill some gaps in his works. 9 This pales in textual comparison with the over 5,600 copies and fragments of the New Testament in the original Greek that, together, assure us that nothing's been lost. In fact, all of the New Testament except eleven minor verses can be reconstructed outside the Bible from the writings of the early church leaders in the second and third centuries AD. 10

All though all aspects of the bible can not be proven true, there are no aspects of the bible that can be proven faulse.

As to which one verision is the real version. I would say that the real version is the untranslated version of the bible that was in the handwriting of the one who wrote it.

There are no real contradictions on the major issues between the different translations.

By faith. Same faith that Anakin Skywalker and Harry Potter are real.

As for which version, none of them, but all of them. Individually, they are all wrong, but together, they complete the Bible.

Example: Some version will translate Acts 20:28 with "church of God", some uses "church of God in Christ", some uses "church of Christ in God", and some just "church of Christ".

But which of them is accurate?

You gotta have to put them side-by-side and compare. Many verses in shows that the "church" is Christ's body, so therefore the correct translation is "church of Christ". But there are verses that shows that Christ will subject himself to God, which makes Christ's body God's, therefore "church of God" is correct. Now going back to Acts 20:28, it shows that the church was purchased by blood. Since Christ is God's sons, it's God's church purchased by His blood. But since Christ uses his own blood to purchase the church, it should be his. So on, and so on.

The bottom line is, none of the version is "true" because none of them really knows the truth.

If you read the book of Acts, Peter and Paul argued on what to teach. So much for knowing the truth.

This book the Bible has sold more copies than any other book, has been read by more people of different nationality's, has been around longer than any other book and is the most controversial book ever written. Tell me why we shouldn't believe that there is something to this book.
