There is no try, only do or not do.

I do not think so. I believe if you live a pristine life from habit, chance, etc. vs. actually examining your conscience you could be living an ungodly life. In contrast, if you try to live a pristine life by actively seeking good, educating yourself about what is good, and being remorseful for what your conscience tells you is not good then you are lliving a godly life. Think about Peter when he denied Christ 3 times! After Jesus returned from the dead, he gave Peter 3 chances to state his loyalty. T
hat said, I would also say it is easier to live a life close to God if you are living a pristine life. Those spiritual demons are out there in the "muck" just waiting to get their clutches on you and invite their friends! "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis (who, incidentally was converted to Christianity by his friend, J.R. Tolkein) kind of touches on some of this topic.

That would depend upon the standards behind the life. One who "tries" to live a pristine life of his OWN accord is stepping outside the will of God if salvation hasn't been applied. One's morals alone don't qualify them for Heaven for the Scripture says "Ye MUST be born of the water and of the Spirit....."

We are NOT perfect. God knows this. That is why His son died on the cross so that our sins may be forgiven. Honestly TRYING to live our lives the way God intended is surely recognized in His eyes. As long as you know where you went wrong, and ask for forgiveness, you will be forgiven. Remember, Jesus was the only perfect person. We are surrounded by so much evil and temptation, it is hard not to sin. Be as pristine as you can, recognize your faults and mistakes, and try very hard not to repeat them.

No one is perfect. Trying is more of the human of the two reasonings. I think of God as a mother and father figure. If you try to be good then you will not be as illfavored.

Only One was ever perfect. God does not expect perfection, only that we never give up. Our Father loves us no matter how many times or how badly we mess up, and forgives us every time. We just have to ask with sincerity and the desire to do better next time.

If you are really trying and you stumble, get up again and really keep trying then yeah. He knows the persons real intentions. If they are sincere in trying to do better, I am sure he is supportive of them.

Who cares? How boring would that be!

Nothing is apparently good enough for the biblical monster so he had to send his "son" to die.

Yea right.
