The fact is that there are more "documented" sightings of Elvis after his death than there are of Jesus.

It was supposed to be just to reveal to his disciples. And they were to testify to the world what happened AFTER he was ascended.
Plus, he was supposed to be DEAD. In a day of superstitions and things of that nature people would have been freaked. That was not his purpose.
And I think his body being missing was hushed up and well, they chalked it up to grave robbers. So what if a look alike was running around? Occasional sightings would have been dismissed as mad rantings or not reported.
He spent those forty days preapring his disciples to feed his sheep.

God provided exactly how much we needed to read and believe. Those who want more proof are hardening their heart and will not believe anyway.
