A seven and six year old were killed whist trying to cross the M56 mway Runcorn. As a former paramedic I despair at parents attitudes.Example six year old being allowed to stand up in car through sunroof when car was travelling at 50 mph.But when you try to say anything all you get is two fingers.Still my sympthies with the parents and hope they can live with themselves.

It doesn't say a lot for Cheshire County Council and the roads authorities in that area to allow access to kids on bikes to the side of a motorway. I thought they were all quite well protected - I must be wrong ! ! !

I think what happened is absolutely shocking, I would say it was a form of neglect but not to the extent of the McCanns but these parents were negligent in the whereabouts and the welfare of their children. The parents knew the motorway was right beside them and should have made extra precautions to keep a good eye on there children and the children should've been taught the dangers of going near the motorway, they are old enough to understand. My little lad is six and he knows very well the danger of going near roads especially a motorway. I do feel sorry for the parents because they will never forgive themselves and i would hate to have my childs death on my conscience because of not keeping a proper eye on them. The little boys are now in the safe hands of the Angels and will hopfully take care of other children out playing near dangerous roads. Rest in peace little souls xxx

I completely agree; I sincerely believe that people should have an IQ test before having a child. I work in social housing, and the degree of stupidity and outright neglect I see from parents is simply jaw dropping. Children left in dirty nappies all day, children left to play on the main road (A6 in Stockport), smoking whilst pregnant, swearing at their children even when infants and toddlers....the list is endless. Some of the utter cretins I see with children are not fit to be trusted with a tv remote never mind a child, and yet they keep on having more, secure in the knowledge that if nothing else the welfare system will pay. Any party that has in its manifesto a pledge to make parents more responsible (financially and as role models) will get my vote.

I completely agree with you, it should be treated as child neglect. When I heard about it this morning my first thought was what the hell where kids of that age doing by a motorway in the first place, yes their parents may not have allowed them near the motorway but allowing children of that age out alone shoudn't be allowed for this very reason. I have a 6 yr old and there is no way on God's earth I would allow him out on his own.

I completly agree. They should be prosecuted, if its not child neglect then there is surely a side of incompetance? Or even dangerous driving? If somebody is stupid enough to risk their children's saftey and not realise it, then they deserve to be prosecuted. It may wake them up to life? I can't believe that somebody could be so unaware as to where their children are, to be letting them onto a motorway of all roads at that age?
I see so many people with their children jumping all over their car, but you do just get abuse back? A woman nearly ploughed into the side of me with my horse box on, through speeding, she was ranting on about fuffing horse boxes and fuffing jumped up horsey lot. I calmly mentioned she should be thinking of her children in the back not belted in, and she swore at me again and sped off ignoring the fact of her children in the back.
Ok ranting over Charlie

I completely agree and 1 parent is saying only this week he started to teach his Son the Green Cross Code! HELLO!!! I started to teach my Son the minute he was able to walk.
It all beggers belief and again today it was reported that they are still considering whether to prosecute the 3 drivers. No-one should connect any blame to them AT ALL

It's half term and kids went out playing. Did you never go somewhere you shouldn't - even though your parents told you not too?
The fathernd his brother went searching for the lads 40minutes after they failed to return home. The lads had been told not to motorway, but they went to the wood on the other side......
Lads will be lads.
My sympathy goes out to the parents in their tragic loss and also to the car drivers who found themselves entangled in death.

I totally agree, what the hell were those 2 little boys' parents thinking of leaving 2 little boys to their own devices? They were probably on the internet, here on Answers, slating the McCanns, truth be known.

What were they doing allowed to go near a motorway at that age, why did they have mopeds or whatever it was they were supposed to be pushing?

They were little more than babies.

unfortunately any idot with a dic* and uterus can have a baby...and there is also IV to help those who can't...but it takes a real man and woman to bring up a child...some people should not be having children for they are mentally children themselves and are so irresponsible...sad but true.......
