for maximum muscle growth first you need a caloric excess in the diet for an extended period of time (months). the ratios of your macronutrients should be close to 30% protein, 50% carbohydrates and 20% fats. a lean athlete in single digit body fat that is in season may need to increase the energy supply even greater to see muscle growth so 60% carbs is needed for some, protein gets decreased to the absolute minimum of 20% of the daily cals.

remember that progressive resistance tears down the muscles and the nutrients provided in your diet rebuilds them larger. the diet that you follow determines the size of your muscles not the loads used to stimulate them

You dont need 'high intake of protein' for maximal growth - this is such a common myth.

Your growth is controlled by your hormones and genetics as well as your diet.

An adult needs 50g of protein a day, an athlete may need a little more but consuming over 100g of protein a day is a total waste - you just piss it out through your kidneys as well as placing a strain on your kidneys.

This has been proven time and time again in numerous sports and nutrition experiments and trials the world over.

meat, poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, cheese and milk products
If you combine rice and beans, you get a complete protein like the rest.
