I don't think I've heard of that happening in your head before but any time I've had or heard of that type of feeling/sensation it's usually a pinched nerve or something.
You might try going to a chiropractor and see if maybe your neck is tweaked. If they can't do anything and it keeps happening you might go to a regular MD and get checked.
I'd suggest the chiropractor first only because if it turns out to be something they can fix you are looking at a lot less money and time than an MD. Depending on the chiropractor they may insist on some xrays first but at least you won't end up with a zillion lab tests and prescriptions. I always figure go for the easy/cheap option first and see if it helps.
Good luck!

Odd neurological sensations are generally classified as a simple partial sensory seizure when they do not originate in the spine or peripheral nerves. The cause of seizures (or electric shock sensations) isn't understood very well. This is probably some type of epilepsy, but It would be good idea to visit a neurologist to make sure the sensations aren't caused by a disease or tumor.

Well, I had a friend who was playing hockey and he bent over to get the puck and he felt what he described as an electric shock feeling in his head and body, he stood up and looked down again and it happened again. He went to the DR and the DR told him to get to an orthopedic DR right away. I don't know what the condition is called but he had to have emergency surgery on his spine. You might want to call your doctor.

I have experienced these from deteriorated discs in the cervical spine causing a nerve to be "pinched". I had surgery with cavader bone wedges and a titanium plate inserted. This stopped the electrical pains.

Hi there. Yes, it is a common withdrawl from antidepressents. Did your Dr. wean you off them by lowering the doses little by little? With antidepressent meds. you can't just take them for 8 years and then just stop, doesn't work that way. In some cases even with wean off the meds you'll feel that little jittery feeling but much worst when just suddenly stopping completely. Talk to your doctor and let him know your symptoms. Take care!

I'd make an appointment ot see your doctor. I don't think it will be anything serious but better to be safe than sorry.
Hope that you get a clean bill of health. Good Luck. ;) x
