God teaches us about our relationships. God says to Men "Be polite, kind, loving and loyal to your wife". He says to women " Submit to your man for spiritual completion". This is team work now and our decisions and actions matter. If the society earth works well with proper principals, all goes well. He tells us of ways to make a better society through thinking and value. So much do we say and ascribe to God but yet survive, isnt that a proof of God's love and forgiveness. Humans have been dwelling on the negative since day one. The real test of Love is when things go wrong. Now, my question is "Do you control your mind or does your mind control you?"

"God teaches us about our relationships."

Really? He's never spoken a word to me. Even when I wanted Him too. That's because God is imaginary.

"God says to Men 'Be polite, kind, loving and loyal to your wife.' He says to women 'Submit to your man for spiritual completion.'"

No, He doesn't. That's in a book. A BOOK. One that's been picked-over, changed, and censored thoughout the course of thousands of years. Again, God has never spoken a word to me--and I serriously doubt He's spoken to you, either. Here's something else that's in that book:

Genesis 3:16 - "To the woman he said, 'I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.'"

That's not an indicator of teamwork. The picture this paints doesn't use the colors of love, working together, or spiritual completion. I love my wife--but if I ever tried to "rule over" her, she'd boot my butt out the door. And I'd let her!

"If the society earth works well with proper principals, all goes well."

The Thirty Years' War is an example of all going well? The Holocaust is an example of all going well? The Crusades are an example of all going well? Or are these all examples of what happens when one group shoves their "proper principles" down another's throats?

"So much do we say and ascribe to God but yet survive, isnt that a proof of God's love and forgiveness."

No. Neither is the suffering of the children in cancer wards. Let's not forget that everyone eventually dies regardless of religion; That throws the whole "survival" idea in the can, does it not? And please don't send me emails detailing eternal life: I've seen how much Christians believe in that. Every funeral is a study in grief--not celebration. I'd suggest you paint with broader strokes.

I mean no disrespect to you as a person for your beliefs. I'm asking you to think harder about this whole God idea. See how little it actually makes sense. Study the actions of other believers and ask yourself what their motivations truly are. Life is far too precious and fragile to waste it playing with an imaginary friend.

You have two questions: Many people want proof that God is loving. Its so sad that many of us cannot see this. we take life itself for granted, the air we breathe, plants that grow, sun that shines, wind that blows and seasons etc. Yes we may have calamities here and there but does the fact that some people dont have clothes to wear make it a proof that there are no good seamstresses in our world? God is uterly beyond us. His ways are not our ways and we cannot with frail human understanding understand Him. It takes faith(the evidence of things not seen) to believe that God exists. The best proof of God's goodness is your very life itself. Do you think you deserve to still be alive? Can you pay for the next breath you will take? Ask the doctor of a patient on life support and he will tell you its a great priveledge to be able to breathe of your own accord.
God gave us all a mind of our own and the ability to make choices. He does not control our minds as one would control a toy airplane with a remote control. He guides us if we succumb to Him and if we don't He lets us have our way and face its consequences. Your mind does not control you. You control your mind.

If you mean the god of the bible then you will find more unloving behavior than loving behavior/words from god. For example, what did god say about an unruly child? His messanger, Moses said let him die the death or how about put to death if you dishonor your mother and father.

Read in Isaiah how women should be treated if they wear showy jewelry and clothing. Or how about in Numbers when god killed people for eating too much ' "The wrath of God came and slew the fattest of them...."

How about when god answered prayer by having bears maul children to death for simply making fun of someone. Isn't that a bit extreme?

This list can go on and on but the point is the god of the bible is not a very nice god. Pastors, ministers etc, simply gloss over these passages or in most cases just don't mention them. Most Christians are what I call "pick and choose" believers. They pick those verses they like and believe in and sweep under the carpet those verses they don't like or don't want to follow.

I feel it goes hand in hand. Some things we have no control over. But your mind is what directs you to do what you do in the first place. I believe in God and the fact that he is loving No one can tell you how good God has been to you.

old cartoon - BC

First panel - Little Johnnie talking to a teacher
" before there was anything, there was nothing?"
Second panel - Teacher
"Yes Johnnie"
Third Panel - Johnnie answers and Teacher with perplexed expression>
"Then were did ANYthing come from?"
Last Panel - Teacher answering Mother's questions asking "how did little Johnnie do today"
"either he is going to be the class troublemaker or a Rhodes Scholar"

The point is it is logical/understandable to question. . .it is NOT logical to assume you can pretend that you can prove the non-existence of God .

There is no proof, any more than there is a god. If you think there is, explain Iraq and all of the death and destruction in parts of Africa. If there really was a "loving god" he would not let that happen to his children.

If believing in god makes it easier to swallow the shithole of this planet, knock yourself out. I choose to be a realist. If there is a god, he doesn't give a rat's @$$ about any of us, that's pretty clear.

My marriage is going wrong. I thought he has a relationship with god. But he keeps swearing, not very loving (only with his wise jokes). And he doesn't treat me right when he's having a bad day. I keep praying to god to help us and guide where he wants me to go. But sometimes I get these terrible signs! Is it a test stay or go?

Satan is the god of this system of things and has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
