No...and "emptying" would not be the preferred method. St. Paul says that we should "renew" our minds.

"Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may know what the good, acceptable and perfect will of God is" Romans 12.

All you get when you empty your mind is an empty mind which is worthless. The scriptures are already in our hearts. Studying them puts them in our mind as well. Worship God with all your heart and mind.

Just as much chance of downloading a Frank Sinatra record.
The answers you seek are within you they are not scriptures they are truths brought to you through your intuition.
Once you learn to recognise what the intuition is telling you and you connect that to your mind frame, and add it to your intellect you are on the way to awareness and personal evolution..
The scriptures are just a series of stories that tell the chronological order of Jewish history. no one has a monopoly on god. The mind of god is there for all to have access to once you clear the senses of emotional attachment to their own idiosyncratic cultural idiom.

Yes, emptying our minds in focused meditation is what we should do. It is the only way to make contact. But this experience is beyond words which the Scriptures are, Constant meditation or a really focused prayer life is the foundation of good works. It helps us to be mindful all the time. Just imagine walking about with Jesus by your side. It would be hard to make a mistake.

you do no longer could desire to "empty your innovations" to connect with God. Do you do this with human beings? No. you purely get to be attentive to them, spend time with them, share with them, etc. for this reason human beings pray and study the Bible... and settle for the actuality got here upon interior of it: Jesus is the way, the actuality and the existence; no you are able to somewhat come to the daddy different than by using Him. you do no longer "acquire" the scriptures into your coronary heart. You fee and love them because of the fact of what they're... that's why you relish reading them.

that's how the christians seem to do it... for the truth will be know that it is them who deceive the world on behalf of the devil... so go ahead and empty your mind of truth and common sense and let the devil fill it with his lies as the others do... then let the curse fall upon you as well for the devil cares not what happens to his slaves just as long as he has the bodies to get the work done...

emptying the mind is an effective meditation tool, but one does not have to "download" scriptures - a second-hand link to spirituality - one can experience it firsthand for one's self.
