If you baptize someone into your religion after they die, is it fair or unfair to them. And how mad would a certain person be if they knew that you were deliberately Baptizing them into a religion after death. When you knew that when they were alive they wanted no part in that Church(Religion)?

Supposedly their spirit has the choice to accept it or not, I don't see a problem with that idea. If they tried to baptize me after my death, I could just ignore it.

Baptizing someone into faith after they've died won't do anything for them. Baptism isn't what saves you, what saves you is the fact that you've accepted Christ as Savior. Seeing as the person is already dead, it would be rather difficult for them to accept Christ and be saved.

But I do believe baptism after death is wrong. Baptism is a profession of faith...if that person had no faith in the cause, then the baptism would mean nothing anyway.

Funny to see all the posters saying the baptism of the dead is not biblical. Have none of you read the writings of Paul??? It IS Biblical. lol You're probably the same folks that shake your heads in disgust whenever someone mentions polygamy, not realizing that most of the Biblical prophets practiced it.

If you profess to be a Bible-church follower...um, read the Bible! It's all in there.

What good does it do to baptize a dead person that is weird.
If they are not aware of the acceptance or denial of the baptism you are doing it in vain. It doesn't count .You might as well be giving them a bath.

If someone "baptizes" me into another faith after I die, they're basically just getting wet on my behalf; my original baptism is the valid one and takes precedence.

But if that's what they believe, they'll do it anyway -- and it won't matter to me at all.

It isn't fair OR unfair, dear one. I makes absolutely no difference to the one who has died. Their choice of where they will spend eternity was made before they died. Making a decision FOR them isn't possible.

Religions that practice doing that are considered cults by those who know God's Word (Theologians).

Baptizing the dead is not scriptural, nor valid. Our choice in this lifetime is what we are judged on, not someone else's choice for us.

God bless!

I guess I disagree with a lot of the responders to this question.
Yes, one can be baptized for the dead per scripture. (1 Cor. 15:29).

I only know of one church that practices baptism for the dead. And even if someone gets baptized in your name after you die, you still have to accept the baptism. If you reject it, that's fine too. It's still your choice. We just try to give you that choice.

If you don't believe in it what difference does it make?

not in the bible

Mormons practice it even tho

Alma 34:32-35, 2 Nephi 9:38, Mosiah 26:25-27 prove it is wrong

it says if you die in your sins you remain in your sins and cannot be redeemed

it says you die a sinner and you go to hell

God loves the mormons enough tto put truth in their false book

It is totally out of The Bible and has no use at all! Dead people are dead!! They will be brought back in their own bodies when Jesus returns for The Judgement Day!
People are so tied to such useless things which keep them so coldly out Of The Revealing Truth - Jesus!
