my husband is in boot camp now. they are giving him a 4-day leave to spend with family before his A-school starts in florida. He graduates on a friday, and hes leaving for school on tuesday. it all depends on when your schooling starts. ask your recruiter if he has a date for your A-school yet, cuz he should. if it starts within about a week, you will be staying at the boot camp base (great lakes, il). if it's longer, sometimes you can get permission to have leave and go home. after A-school, before your first permanent duty station, he was told that whether you are married, have children, or just on your own... they give you a 10-day leave to get all of your stuff together and be moved. unless your first station is overseas, then they would allow you 15-day leave. hope this helps!

that really depends on what assignment you recieve, some "A" schools start only 2 times a year where others start every 4 weeks. Example the Nuclear program has a class starting every 6 months however they normally schedule you to be getting out of boot and report to "A" school in approx 2 to 5 days.

You normally don't get leave between A school and boot camp. Usually they allow you to go on leave after A school, unless it's for a family emergency. Your recruiter will know the start date of your A school class.

you will report to A school within days. the absolute most you will have is the weekend after PIR and you will be on a plane to your A school that following Monday.

NO leave is authorized between Boot and A school. NO leave is authorized during A school except for the 2 week holiday stand down that everybody gets.

15 days if you get stationed somewhere stateside or 30 days if you get stationed overseas.

You will also report directly to your school after bootcamp only getting days for travel time.

There is an exception if you get out right before a holiday. I went Oct 5 1998 and got out a week or so before christmas and I was allowed to take leave before starting school. But your already to late to get out for christmas or New Years. And boot camp and great lakes IL in no fun in the winter. I suggest you wait until early spring, not to hot, not to cold and no snow/shoveling watches.

They do allow you to go negative for leave directly after "a" school so you dont have to worry about having it accrued but you wont have any after that until you make it up.

Pal, let me explain something to you. You are joining a fighting force and after being in less than 12 weeks you want time off, get real this is the Navy not the Girl Scouts.

YOU earn 2.5 days leave per month in the military!

Complete Basic, "A "school, report to your first duty station and take leave during x-mas!
unless if you get assigned to a boat and will be deployed!
