*I.e., no posts for 10 minutes.
This applies to all belief systems, in rememberance of the 1,000,000s who have perished throughout the ages under the iron grip of orginized religions. The 10 minute silence would apply to Theists, Atheists and Agnostics alike as a sign of respect to the fallen.
The alternative, I suppose, is a 10 minute hate ala 1984, although this forum is rife with that as it is and it is doubtful if anyone would note the difference.
So I ask this:
Would you observe it, flatly ignore it, rally against it - what?

Whoa, interesting and varied responses.
Of course, I have no plan to put this into effect, it was just an experiment.
"Wacked out dude" haha!

Well 12 million people were tortured and murdered in the burning times so yes I would observe a 10 minute silence for all those who died because of religious intolerance.
I would also think of the 3000 wolfs burnt at the stake in france because they were satans familiars the poor creatures deserved better as did the people who were murdered.

10 minutes wouldn't change anything. In fact nothing is this world has the power to change things except Jesus! People are careless and cold due to the lack of GOD in their lives!!! They should start considering what moves them and their feelings! Religion ties people and does not hel at all!
Jesus Is The Only Way and Salvation!
I'd rather spend these 10 minutes (and every momento of my life) telling people about Jesus and what He has already done for those who accept Him As The Only Saviour!
The world is dying, can't you see that? Peeple are dying with it just because they don't wanna accept that they are nothing without GOD! Look around! Blindness and hardness of heart cannot be soooooo damn eternal!

Belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob whose son is Christ Jesus did not kill those people. The wickedness of man has killed many and many wicked men have killed in the name of their gods or god. But the truth being their god was the devil who comes to kill, steal and destroy. Satan has synogogues and he goes under many denominations. Therefore, I would rally against it as I have done here. Therefore Scripture says that "judgment begins in the house of God." Belief in God did not cause the death of 6 million jews and 3 million Christians. An antichrist called Hitler and a wicked Pope condoned it. As did a wicked Pope condone the Crusades. Your new antichrist is Ahmadinejad who plans for you to convert to Islam or die and he has proclaimed death to all Israel Jews and American Christians. Allah is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob whose Son is Jesus the Christ.
I strongly believe in the God of the Holy Bible, KJV. You said all belief systems so I strongly disagree with you.

i'm a Christian, one in each and every of Jehovah's Witnesses. i do no longer word both minutes of silence besides. although, I do appreciate those who do. both minutes of silence is to bear in mind those that fell and those that fought and lived. even as I stay silent I replicate on a time quickly even as Jehovah will end all conflict and suffering and in no way take a even as to imagine about the careless waste of existence it truly is proficient about by conflict. My son in college attended the service as did the different scholars yet he did not pause to bear in mind, And even as they sing the nationwide anthem in college he sticks out of appreciate for his instructor and classmates yet does no longer sing, nor coach any allegiance to any flag nor u . s . a .. we are impartial in those affairs. That neutrality is between the protections that are given to us by Jehovah God.

Yes and then I would observe a 10* for all the unbelievers, but it wouldn't be silence, I would be praying in my mind.

sure, I'll respect 10 minutes of silence for those who died because of religion if we do another 10 for those who died under secular regimes
