I'm attempting to research additional information online, and through local doctors, but does anyone know the cost of a mammogram? A fine needle aspiration biopsy? A core needle vacuum biopsy? Each chemotherapy treatment? I need figures and facts, and am compiling a fact sheet from it.

Call your local hospitals finincial dept. They have lists of what the hosp charges for each proceedure. Keep in mind these figures will be over priced and are what the patients with no insurance pays. Those with insurance will only pay a small copay anywhere from 15-50 for proceedurs like the mammogram and biopsies, and a few thousand for the treatments. Prices are inflated bc insurance never pays the full price charged. The companies the docs and hosps accept have a contracted agreement for how much they will pay for what, the patient pays the copay, and the rest is just forgot about. So the people who dont have insurance end up paying way more than what they should be. If you are looking for yourself, you need to keep that in mind. If you are writing a paper, you should include something about that.

I dont know about breat cancer specifically, but cancer treatments can run anywhere from 50,000 to my accumaltive total of a few mil. All depends on how and where you are being treated. Someone in the hosp being treated with iv meds will be charged more than someone only coming in during the day for their treatment. And they will be charged more than someone who is only being treated with oral meds.

I am being treated at two rather expensive private hosps compared to the public hosps in my rural hometown.

This varies between countries, between states and between treatment centres (public or private).

Chemotherapy treatments also vary with the drugs being used, which are tailored for each patient.

There is no "one price fits all" solution to this question!
