Here are a few I have space for that are TOTAL lies!

1. Einstein was a theist- Utterly wrong. He did not believe in a personal god who answers prayers, a soul, or an afterlife etc..

2. Thomas Jefferson was a Christian- He openly denied the heart of Christian doctrine. He did not believe that Jesus died for our sins and was the son of God, but he sometimes used the word "Christian" to describe the moral teachings of Jesus.

3. Christians will quote mine from Darwin where he says that it seems improbable that the eye evolved. But if you read on, Darwin explains that it's not improbable at all if it did so in gradual increments. Another outright Christian deception.

4. Jesus was the one to bring the doctrine of having compassion to the world. I heard this in a debate last night by Dinesh D'Souza. This is an outright lie. Buddhism predates Christ by 500 yrs. Compassion is a core teaching and it teaches it better than anything in the bible does.

Name some more of their lies

D. Chen- have you read the bible? I have, and I've studied Buddhism. It is my opinion that Buddhist teachings of compassion are lightyears ahead. The bible barey talks about it, and where it does mention it, it does not go into detail about cultivating it.

Suzanne- Ha! Yes, the old testament teaches compassion, and what compassion it is! Don't think for a second this was lost on me. I just find OT compassion an oxymoron. If you want to describe OT compassion as spiritual compassion, then we can rest assured that Shamanistic compassion was being taught at least 50,000 years ago, predating Judaism by just a bit.

Interesting that a Buddhist supposedly pwned me, considering that Buddhists don't believe in your god at all.

IC- The comment about Buddhism spreading the idea of compassion was written in reference to D'souza's comment that Christianity started the idea. It did not. I pointed this out and stated that Buddhism (which I've studied) does a much better job at exploring compassion (which a moments glance will readily show, and loads of experts agree with me). D. Chen, who has probably never read the bible, commented in order to make peace with Christians. Christians commented back with empty statements in agreement with D. Chen... Christians who probably know nothing about Buddhism, and haven't the faintest idea what I am talking about.

definite, that is complication-unfastened in the U. S.. faith should not be anti technological know-how. I study a scientist's philosophy on faith as quickly as (sorry i can not undergo in recommendations who it became), he mentioned that the universe that technological know-how is studying is so plenty greater massively wonderful than something in the Bible that that actuality reflects infinitely greater glory on the writer--God--than a literal analyzing of the Bible does. and a few scientists settle for a writer, a God--it can not be an excellent-unfold human sort or perhaps something our minds are able to comprehending, yet even Stephen Hawking posits a writer of the massive Bang--and why no longer? the sort of writer would not would desire to be human in any respect, it ought to easily be a stress. Does it hear to our prayers? Punish or advantages us? we would and ought to by no potential understand!

Well i'm a bonifide "godless bastard" to some, an i freely admit that so i do agree with most of what you said.

But Chen's got you buddy - Your going around using Buddhism to "bash" Christianity. That's like a freaking contradiction for those people. They don't "bash." Heck, i'm starting to believe that its less a problem of "Religion vs. Non Religion" as opposed to "Westerners Religions/Philosophies who like to Scream Rant Yell vs. Eastern Religions/Philosophies that try to get along with each other."

Heck, i would probably be more inclined to like the Xians if they actually lived up to their teacher's words in the manner the Buddhists honor their enlightened one.

D.Chen: Dude - don't take these people too seriously. You seem like an alright bro. Gotta learn in this country that we like to play HARD. Just keep doing your honesty thing - someone on Yahoo Answers gotta do it i suppose.

EDIT - Whoh buddy. Chill. Stay with me on this wavelength here. Yes, D'Souza speaking a crock full of sh@&!*@#, but the way you set that up with "Buddhism vs. the Bible" your making it sound like Buddha goes a tramplin on the Bible.

May not be your intention, aww heck man, it may be your intention (like i would care that much) but you are kinda doing what Chen said.

Your "borrowing Buddha's hand" to slap the Christians for not being up to 'snuff. Something that Buddhists wouldn't really give 2 figs about doing.

One of the reasons why i respect those blokes. None of this whole "I'm Better than you are Bow down and worship" crap.

Besides, i don't need Buddha to handle the Xians - Got Science and Reason on my side.

1) correct
2) correct -- he was called a pagan by his peers
3) correct
4) incorrect. The Old Testament teaches compassion and it pre-dates Buddha by thousands of years.

FYI, I'm a Christian.

EDIT: aaronesque, I think D.Chen totally "pwned" you.

SECOND EDIT: (((((((CMW)))))) Now I know why I'm getting thumbs up! For an explanation of "pwned," go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwn

THIRD EDIT: Thanks, CMW. We received the pronunciation of "pwn" from the same people who tell us "YHWH" is pronounced "Jehovah." < smile >

I'm just spending most of my R&S day following Suzanne around, lavishing thumbs up on her.

And that's the truth from a Christian. I'm not sure what pwn means, but he ate your lunch.

Edit: Pwn - I like it, thanks. It has no vowels. :-)
