A question I saw earlier made me curious so here we go. I would like those who think that pagans/wiccans are such terrible people to give the reason behind your judgment without accusing them of Satan worship or throwing versus at them. I would really like to know what it is about these beliefs that make some people go nuts. Also think about this, say you have a friend you have known for years that you really care about and one day he/she comes out of the "broom closet" and tells you hey I am a Pagan/wiccan, how would you react?

You are evil and terrible because:

You are peaceful
You have great holidays
You make great friends
Celebrate fun festivals
Enjoy good humor
Down to earth
Morally decent folks
Revere nature
Sensible
Generally wise
Reasonable
Don't really hate on anyone

I could go on but there is just so much evil to list! I simply don't have forever to write it all down!!!

If I had a friend come out of the broom closet I would promptly take them out for coffee and talk about the weather. They deserve it!

You all should be ashamed!

personally i can't figure out what they are objecting to in the pagan religions. Can someone explain how the wiccan belief that we should not harm anyone can in any way equate to worshipping satan? Doesn't make any sense to me....as far as us other pagans, well I guess they lump satanists into our group for some reason, but even the satanists don't believe what the Christians think they do. From what I read they believe that they should get to have the powers promised by God now instead of having to wait for them after they die and they believe Satan will give them those powers now,or something like that. Besides which, Satanism is an offshoot of Christian beliefs because Satan is a Christian deity, not a "pagan" one. Shouldn't people learn more about what they are preaching against before they label things evil? And there are many pagans who are practicing "in the broom closet". Far more than people realize. I hope one day they won't have to be afraid to admit who and what they are and do so with pride. We are a wonderful people and if Christians understood us better they would know that.

Oh I love this. I'm not evil, I'm just decieved. I'm too stupid to understand who and what I worship. Unless I worship THIER god. Then I'm smart again.
Yet they don't see this as a condecending attitude.
And we are evil because we worship false idols. Where are these idols anyhow?? I need some. I mean how is anyone going to know I am evil pagan who worships idols with out idols. What should I get?

I think this is an interesting question. I am a Catholic, and I do not believe in the same beliefs as a wiccan/pagan. However, I do not believe them to be dangerous. I disagree with them morally. That being said, if my best friend told me she was a wiccan/pagan I would not stop being her friend. Same with if she told me she was a lesbian. That is her decision and her choice. Just because I choose not to do it does not mean that I can't have a meaningful relationship with that person. I am not about to throw Bible verses down their throat because they do not believe in the Bible. That would be like taking an Australian law book and trying to make me abide by Australian laws in the USA.

Lets put it this way. Sprituality is like the two sides of a tuning fork. When you make an intial spiritual decision, you select one prong or the other. So when you go down the religious fork, it eventually leads to God. If you go down the other one, it eventually leads to Satan.

Once you start out, it gets a bit difficult to turn back and accept that you chose the wrong prong. It is possible to jump from one prong to the other. A good example was St. Paul, who was a mass murder before he came to the right conclusion.

Another is a christian who falls into temptation. The other prong had got so close he decided he wanted to try it. Angostics try to keep their balance between the two and Atheists would say the tuning fork doesnt exist.

A curious feature of the prong is that the nearer you get to the end of it, the more attractive the end becomes. So Wiccans and White Magic practioners are at the start of the Satan leading prong and are only lightly evil.

Pagans and Wiccans who have taken up the old pagans religions are somewhat more evil, because they worship false Gods.

Black Magic, Voodoo, Red Magic, and other abominations end up at Satan's door. There are no lines painted across the prong, the transitions are very blurred.

As to finding out about a friend I would be horrified and would undoubtedly drop him/her.

That person I knew for years who came out of the broom closet was my sister. I have never said that pagans and wiccans are terrible people, but that they employ manipulations of the spiritual world through the use of demons who masquerade as good forces and deceive them. That doesn't mean I think you're satanists and drink blood. That means I think you're deceived by demonic forces.

When my sister became a Christian, after many years of serving her coven, there were MANY spiritual ramifications and frightening demonic manifestations in her life, and in her home. They tormented her children too. That went on for several years. Wicca opens you up to things that should not be played with.

You may not like or agree with my answer, but I answered it honestly without throwing around scripture.

I have friends who are pagan and friends who are wiccan, not all pagans are wiccan. Wiccans are self centered, self serving, liars, manipulative, they really only care about their owns selves and what they want and give little to no consideration to others, they are great pretenders, generally devious. Pagans are usually nice people who are totally messed up. This is just my own view of the ones I have known, I don't know if they are all this way.
