I would say, yes. If there were no God, then all of life was some extreme lucky accident, with almost impossible odds of ever repeating anywhere in the universe. As an accident, that means when you die, you cease to exist forever. No memories, no feelings, no concept of the passage of time...nothing! The end. You might as well get as much as you want, stepping on anyone that gets in your way, since we're all going to the same place anyways.
In fact, why not go more further and eliminate the homeless, the starving, the handicapped, etc. They're just using precious resources. Why have morals and compassion? Why should they keep on suffering?
Eventually, if we destroy the Earth, would the universe care?
Hard to believe that we're just an accident. Seems pretty logical that we were placed here by some divine being instead for a purpose. What that purpose is no one really knows. Religions just try to explain their reasonings behind this.

Yes, religion has got nothing to do with God. Jesus and His Words Are The Only Way to salvation!
Besides God LOVES us / he doesn't need us! We need Him more than anything else! There's no life without Him!
God Is not in religions. He is IN HIS LIVING WORDS!

As 'god' was invented/imagined by people to control other people and exists today as a figment of the imagination - still for the control of others - if no one considered that there was a 'god' there wouldn't be one. However, as religion is both a power for control and big business it will always be with us.

Yes, religion is a man-made institution. God doesn't need any support from us to exist.

No.
If there is no religion then the God of the religion cannot exist. If there is a God then worshipping him is the religion. If you acknowledge the God then you acknowledge the religion.
