We would want to be apart from God if he existed, yes (because he's evil). But that doesn't mean we want to be tortured. And no, being apart from God wouldn't be torture for us. Why can't he keep us apart from him and not torture us?

well its their choice. im sorry to tell but all of you atheist will be sorry when the end comes. but anyway atheist dont believe in hell because in the day of Judgement, God will create the lake of fire or hell. and if they believe in hell, they will have to accept that God does exist because like i said God created hell (specially) for those non-believers. so, is it okay for you atheist if we say that you guys are all going to hell?

Because God chose eternal torture as a just punishment. He could have chosen non existence or eternal internment or separation. Instead, he chose burning people in a lake of fire.

That is his nature.

Christians who claim that we want to be tortured forever, do it out of disbelief. If they really believed in the nonsense they preach, their attitudes would be completely different.

Imagine you are on the edge of a cliff and you see someone you don't know walking backwards to the edge. Most of us, would do everything we can to stop the stranger from falling to their deaths. However, if you apply the standard Christian response, we would just call the person ignorant, and in the dark, and then shake our heads that the idiot backed off the cliff. We would then justify our inaction by stating that it was his choice, and not our fault at all that he didn't listen to our condescending warnings.

The truth is that most Christians wouldn't act like this, unless deep down inside, they didn't think the cliff was really there.

I have never thought, said or believed that anyone Wants to be in Hell, nor have I ever heard another Christian say that. If God were evil, you would be in Hell right now but you are not, are you? Unless you are speaking of the hell on earth that people create for themselves. Why do people torture themselves?

The only mention of Hell as a place of torment (that I know of) is from Christ who said that it is a place for those who are angry for no reason and who rationalize hatred for others. This is why he taught that we should be generous and forgiving towards others, to express love for our fellow mankind. I certainly hope this is not a problem for you to understand.

I never said that atheists wants to be in hell, But as i read your question, You said IF God Exist, As though you are doubting his existance, Then you turn around & declare you don't want to be tortured, So you deny God & yet accept a place of torture, You have a confussed mind.

honestly in the course of the crusades they were slaughtering different Theists inspite of the very incontrovertible truth that some Atheist would have fallen the following and there. Theists are fairly apt at killing different theists because they don't look to be the right type of theist. Atheists in simple terms type of keep to themselves drawing a low profile as they stay their existence. If one kills they don't look to be christian. If on judges they don't look to be christian. in the experience that they practice hate in the direction of their fellow guy they don't look to be christian. Hell will be crowded with those who call themselves christians. Atheists have more suitable suitable events than sit down for an eternity in this frail and incorrect for in both hell or heaven. imagine about it!

Christians cannot think for themselves-thats why.

Atheists believe in solid facts and truth, none of which is provided by religion- not just christianity.

Whether Im atheist or not, i never understood why a mericful God, one who loves all would want people to go to an everlasting hell.

And God loves and makes all-so they say- so why does he make people who hate him? Nothing makes sense with religion.

First of all, if you don't believe in God, then how can he be evil? Second, if you don't believe in God, then I'm assuming you also don't believe in Hell. So, why worry? Let others have their opinions. It doesn't affect you.

Queenthesbian is right. It's projection. They get ticked off that we don't buy into their religious beliefs, and don't believe them when they tell us we're going to hell for not believing in their God. So they become angry and project that anger forward. It's taking their actual thought of "It'll serve you right to go to Hell...you deserve it...." (for not believing them) and turning it around to "You WANT to go to hell..."
It's an illogical response triggered by anger.

It's the whole free will thing. If you're not with god, you're against god, and apparently you go to hell. They say if we don't believe we are consciously choosing to go to hell. Doesn't make sense if you ask me.

Because we're EEEEEEVVVILLLLLL!

No morals, baby-eating, orgy-having evil. We deserve eternal punishment! Refusal to accept the word of a Christian as undisputed fact is a sin! Thinking for yourself and drawing your own conclusion is bad!
