No they are not evil spirits. This is religious nonsense made up by the catholics.
Why would your loved ones refuse to talk to you just because they no longer inhabited a body.
Would that make them care any less for you.
Does it make you care any les for them?

Well its not the dead you communicate with. Demons are the evil ones who cause chaos. There is only one true and pure evil spirit, that of Lucifer. In our history he has supposedly only ever possessed 6 people. The last being Anneliese Michel, whose grave now has become a landmark for the Catholic Church.

You may think that you can communicate to the dead but the dead can not communicate. We live in constant audience of the spiritual world. When you die your spirit leave your body and go to Heaven (those who believed in God) or to hades read Luke 16:19 - 32. Revelation 1: 18, 1 Timothy 2:5. Those who claim they talk to the dead talk to evil spirits.

I can communicate with the deceased and I can tell you that spirits who have crossed over are NOT evil, they can visit us and love and talk to us all the time! Then there are Earthbounds who are just like people! That means, some are good, some are neutral, some are mean..
The bible says those of us who can do this also need to be able to "discern" them. and that is the gift -stated in corinthians that I can do-The meanies are very rare to run into if you are a good person with no habits like drugs-as they don't come unless they are called or have your permission (ouija boards)-
I have helped many peoples lives by communicating with their deceased loves ones...helpig people and spreading faith is apart of God, not of evil.
Evil wouldn't try to help show that God is real, and tell people to have faith and to pray to God-which they do.

same ppl who are translating the bible text as to say mediums are talking to evil spirits-are the same ppl who are translating text in the bible as homosexual is evil-when it really speaks about rape only. Most people don't understand how transaltions work, and the fact that the word Medium and psychic did not exist in biblical times-so why is it being used then? The fact is the bible condemed wizardry and witchcraft- and funnily enough-Wicca didnt exist back then, and so what they were speaking about were the witches of fairytales that didnt exist! which is why many innocent victims were killed during Salem...
I can get into more later, but now i hav eto go-just remember, if we werent given gifts to prophesy and discern spirits to communicate with them..Jesus wouldn't have told the disciples to spread the word and to tell ppl his gifts are left with us all and corinthians wouldnt have the gifts statements..

dead people are just as diverse as live people. Some are good, some are evil, some fall somewhere in between. The only real difference is they are dead. Many of them don't even know they are dead, and those ones need convincing.

Yes, People are communicating w/ evil spirits when they think they are talking to the dead. In the Bible, God did not allow us to speak or warn the dead in Luke 16:19-31. We are to trust God for the future and when we don't understand or miss those who are dead. Trust is something we choose.

If ignorance is bliss christians must be the happiest people alive.I spoke with my dad a month after he died,my dog and cat used to visit me,my wife has spoken to her female relatives long gone,none were evil...what christians don't understand they demonize as they have always done...if your mother or father died and they visited you in your dreams would you fear them or feel the love they obviousley wanted to share with you?
The only evil we face is the prejudice of religious intolerance,and people wonder why pagans like me(who are not the nuage love and peace brigade) hit back and give those deluded folks a hard time.....stop and think,not what some book says but what you heart says...try it it's quite liberating to think for yourself...peace and happiness to you

I have never had anything but loving spirit come through in my communications
however , Christians will say that this is familiar spirit trying to take your attention away from God ( which is what I hear all the time )
all I can say is ... I didnt even believe in God until my experiences with spirit
so that throws that theory out the water
