Honestly i know several people who have had great results with Weight Watchers. My only concern is this... there's a group of women i work with that go to meetings together and they've become OBSESSED. What they eat and how many points it has, etc has completely consumed their life.
I'm just not sure its worth it... it takes all the fun out of eating and living...

I know several people who have been successful with the Weight Watchers program. I believe that this program gives you a little more freedom to choose what you eat than the Jenny Craig program. With Weight Watchers, it is not just a diet, it is a way of living. You can continue to eat this way for life. You can eat whatever you want, just in moderation. I definitely recommed Weight Watchers, but I don't think that there is anything wrong with Jenny Craig, I just don't know anyone who has tried it.

I joined weight watchers on 21 March and reached my goal weight on 17 August 2007. I lost 48lbs.
I am now a gold member and still attend their meetings on a regular basis to maintain my goal weight.
I followed their core plan, (and still do). I also joined a gym. Which I attended 5 times a week for 1 hour (and still do). Exercise and diet works perfectly. This helped accelerate my weight loss and now it helps to maintain it, along with sensible eating.
I found their meetings really motivating. It was good to talk to people in the same position as me. The meetings definitely helped me to achieve my goal weight.
It has taught me a lot about weight loss. I know for a fact, that I have to carry on eating as I was whilst losing weight, occasionally allowing myself a treat, (but only in moderation).
It is a lifetime of changing your old eating habits for good to keep the weight off. When you have come to terms with that, then you are able to keep your weigh off, or otherwise you will put it all back on again, plus more.
Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig can give you advise on diets, but we are responsible ourselves for consuming foods. At the end of the day the weight loss success is only achieved by us as individuals. Some do better than others.

I think they have to say that results aren't typical, so somebody who joins and then doesn't lose any weight, can't come back and sue them. My Mom has been on weight watchers for the past 6 months and has lost 50 pounds. It seems to be a good program and easy to follow. I think Jenny Craig would be more expensive since you buy a lot of their food.

My mom joined Weight Watchers in the 1980's. She went from a size 18 to a size 8 and has never gained the weight back again.
My mom is also a very competitive person, too. So, she did well with weight watchers.. mostly out of her own self-motivation.
I went for a while, but found their little "pep talks" boring and old. It was ten bucks per meeting and that included "weighing in" and listening to a "pep talk." It just never did anything for me. So I gave up on them.

I joined weight watches and lost 45 lbs on the program in 5 months. It works as long as you follow their guidelines for both diet and exercise.
