The Colorado Rockies advertise themselves as a "Christian Baseball Team." When they were searching for players, they asked for those with "character," insinuating that those that were not Christian lacked this trait.

They have enjoyed monumental success on the field and it remains to be seen whether or not this success will continue to the final games.

The question is, do you think God would guide one team to win over another that is made up of players from various religions? Do you believe that Christianity should be a criteria for playing good baseball?

No, and what they're doing may be illegal. The first time someone who isn't Christian is denied a place on the team, well, they might find themselves sued. Discrimination in the workplace over religion is a federal crime.

No. I think there are FAR MORE IMPORTANT things going on on Earth that God has His hand in that baseball. It's a game for Heaven's sake. He might like to watch but I don't think He really cares who wins the world series.

*rolling my eyes* religious hyprocrisy doesnt belong anywhere! i wonder why the colorado rockies make an issue of the religion, when clearly the sport of baseball has nothing to do with one's faith. maybe they are more concerned with players having a *clean* lifestyle...those not addicted to drugs, booze, or groupies. in recent months a couple young players (not on their team) have died due overindulgence in alcohol and\or drugs.

I believe that should be left up to the owner.

I like the idea myself

I don't think he is insuating that other player lack character, but that Christian athletes have a 'different ' character.

Look at all the athletic stars who are such poor role models and proud to be that way...........It isn't helping our kids who look up to these men because they are such good players.

I'd rather have my kids watching a good player who is a Christian anyday.

Sure. It's their team if they want christians that's their choice.

"insinuating that those that were not Christian lacked this trait."
You need to learn to unerstand what people write. "Character" and christian go together but non-christians can still be good people. They want christians with character.

God didn't help them last night, and I have a feeling he'll be wearing a Red Sox cap the rest of the Series.

If God exists, I'd like to think he has more serious issues to worry about than who wins the World Series...

I'll take religious hypocrisy over true religiosity any day.
Anthing that trivializes religion is basically for the good.

If a person owns a team and wants to employ Christians it is not our business. We live in a free country.......or we did once.

I don't see the relationship between your question and your details. What "hypocrisy" are the Colorado Rockies practicing?

Oops, your bias is showing...
