We have a sauna. Hot tub? That would be nice.

Our medical benefits cover a portion of the cost for physical and/o massage therapists, but you have to go to them, they don't come to the station.

Not where I worked. When Nationwide Ins wanted to donate a bunch of exercise equipment for our officers to keep in shape, our chief turned it down !!! None of us ever could figure that out but then, no one could ever figure that chief out either.

They now have a new Academy so not sure what all is in there. Will have to call one of my friends and see about some of this, just out of curiosity :) I doubt they have a massage therapist or physical therapist. Massage therapist they would have to pay for and physical therapy comes under their medical and has to be recommended by their doctor or they have to pay for that out of their pocket. But they may now have a hot tub or sauna. They do have a pool, something they didn't have before and I know they have a very good exercise room with very good equipment. Saw those pictures on the web not long ago ....

I wish........

I work in an over 1000 sworn person agency.... We have a gym at the main police head quarters, not available for the working cop on the street but the staff sure likes it.

Heck... I would love to have department paid massage once a week!

There would be no need for a physical therapist unless the officer recieved an injury...in which case they attend physical therapy in private clinic or hospital...just like everyone else.

It should be if it isn't. I would consider it tax money well-spent if those things could be provided for people who have one of the toughest (if not THE toughest) jobs in the city.
