SAS trooper dies in Afghanistan

"He died on active service in a just cause and in a cause to which the Australian government and many other countries around the world remain very firmly committed," Mr John Howard said.

I say "They should bring our men home".

Agreed, except it must be for the right reason. For example, if we were to take down the fascist and communist governments of Iran and Syria, Iraq would be pretty much secure, and we could completely hand over control to their government, though even if a stupid lib takes office, we'll always have a military base in Iraq. Or, if we were to finally capture that bastard bin-Laden, then we could say that our mission is complete and return to American soil as heroes.

Or, we can do the Hillary Clinton thing, declare defeat, lose our stance as the only superpower in the world, not to mention seriously bad feedback from Europe and South Korea, and increase the number of people following Fascist Islam by over 400%.

I say, "Duty First"

They should stay and finish the job, PERIOD! Meaning the U.S. Govt. and the troops, as well as our allies. Part of the reason we, the free world, are back in Iraq/ Afghanistan, is because we didn't finish the job the first time. New govts. need to be in place and WORKING before we leave. They need security forces, police, military...as of now, all they have is a rag-tag group of police. And look who's running Afghanistan now, ANOTHER militant. A man who opposes EVERYTHING!

These people have been living in fear all their lives. Now you expect them to stand up and fight those who've intimidated them for so long...please. They have to be retrained, mentally. It's going to take time! How long? As long as it takes.

I totally agree. My heart goes out to the people fighting the war and their families. The horrid truth remains though that no matter what happens in the future, the war will never end for some people.
