They had free will otherwise God did not need to tell them not to eat of the tree of good and evil and the consequences of disobedience was death. They were given rule and consequence and with that knowledge they chose to disobey God's rule and sin entered the world.

Adam and Eve had free will. If Adam had choosen God over Eve, God would have made him an even better 2nd Eve and we would not be were we are at right now

It was pre-programmed...just like the betrayal of Jesus by Judas...it HAD to happen for God's plans to move forward...

I, for one, am glad it did.

Imagine living in a world where you are completely ignorant....doing nothing....wearing fig leaves...and really no different from cattle....
